I am a average person i will not be downloading to many demos or stuff. But i will be playing games and movies a lot. I don't think i will have many pictures either. But i will have an average size of multimedia. Can someone give me suggestions please and why you think that.

Just to be safe, I think that you should buy the 80GB PS3. You'll be playing your PS3 for a long time, and you should go with a PS3 that has a big hard drive that can last you for a long time.

Also, the 80GB PS3 has the digital camera flash card slots and you might use those later on down the road. I thought that I would never use the flash card slots, but I use it everyday to copy pictures to my PS3's hard drive.

And most importantly, the 80GB PS3 is compatible with both PS1 and PS2 games, the 40GB PS3 isn't compatible with PS2 games.

If you're not going to play PS2 games on your PS3, then get the 40GB PS3, but when you get the 40GB PS3, buy a larger hard drive for it before you start saving games on it because you will need the extra hard drive space.

If you plan to play ps2 games you have to get the 80gb because 40gb doesnt play ps2 games.

the 80gb will probably be a better buy in the long run, i have two friends that got PS3s the one who bought the 80gb seems more satisfied than the one who bought the 40gb.so it seems the bigger the better.
