It seems to be in a stage equivalent to adolescence--rebellious, volatile, indignant, demanding, seeking independence. Christianity was a bit like this in the Dark Ages. If so, does this mean we can expect Islam to simmer down in just another 400+ years?

It seems as if you are an intelligent person. You are probably posting this question on the wrong board. If you are talking about the crusades...It is something you would have to research further on your own. I am Christian and many "Christians" are not always educated. Islam can sometimes be seemed as a parallel to Islam because they are one of the two longest lasting religions and have gone through many accounts. I do not think they will simmer down because of Islams main goals (read the Koran). Many people do not understand the history. The American "mindset" and those of Islam are not comparible. Please research it...you will find many interesting things...Christian, or not.

We are powerless to do anything because this is the First Horseman and the First Seal of the book of Revelation. We cannot change any prophecies in Sacred Scripture. Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and Northern Africa will unite these nations under the leadership of Iraq and Iran. Iraq will invade and occupy Syria and other Arab nations. After the small war among Arab nations, the Arab nations will join forces. They will threaten and attack the United States. They will explode a nuclear bomb in New York City. ("You will make them like an oven of fire, in the time of your presence. The Lord will stir them up with his wrath, and fire will devour them." (Psalm 20:10) Next they will threaten and attack Europe. They will attack France and Italy and other countries. The Arab nations will be unstoppable. They will eventually conquer all of Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and the northern part of Africa. This will be a war against nations and also a war against the Christian faith. They will burn churches and prohibit public Christian worship in the occupied countries. This war will last for many years.. This war is the First Horseman and the First Seal of the book of Revelation.

Sort of, except it should be about 600 years because Islam as a religion didn't start until the 7th century.
It may never settle down in the way you mean because there is a completely different outlook on belief and discussion and dissent are strongly discouraged.

Yes and No. Some, ( most radical or 'wahabists') are still there in the 7th century! others have adapted to modern ways without abandoning long held traditions and values. Pakistan seems to be a great example. in its hiis it harbors supporters of jihadists including those loyal to and perhaps including O.B.L. where now in the capital city a woman former prime minister is pressing the current leader to give up authoritarian rule for democracy

The numbers of Christians is decreasing in the UK with many churches closing down, with not much comfort from the bigoted television preachers either in the US or UK.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, with many new mosques being built in the UK, so we all need to live and work together, there are a lot of good people of all cultures out there, so lets help each other.

I have always thought so. It was created 600 years after, but with technological advances you might be right, we could possibly pull them out of the stone age 400 years after the Christians.

Islam took the arabs out of the middle ages. It stopped a period knows as Jahiliyah, or ignorance. This meant that daughters were not buried alive and people didnt worship things that they created with their own hands. Islam brought about such reform that it made one thing a must. following a path that is morally righteous. if that seems like chaos to you then you need to do some more research, i invite you to research about what islam really is according to the quran and hadith. Most of the aspects range not in customs such a when to perform prayers and stuff, most of it is building moral character and being human beings, not the self centered, greedy people that were present in arabia before islam. It goes in such detail as to which shoe to put on first. im going to repeat this again. Islam is NOT a religion. It is a WAY OF LIFE. it is a government, an ideology and an indivual pathway to sucess through submission to god. Not a bunch of rituals put together with some rules. again, islam civilized arabia.
