I am cooking spaghetti with white clam sauce tonight. The recipe calls for two tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley, but I was wondering if I could substitute dried parsley. I don't cook very often, and I certainly don't use parsley often when I do cook, so I thought dried parsley would be the better choice, since it won't go bad. Will that ruin the recipe, though?

You can substitute, but the dried is alot more powerful, use half of what it calls for. Although it may be only for garnish, if that is the case then it can be omitted.

Yes, use 1/3 as much dried parsley (or other herbs) as you would fresh. Of course, I like parsley alot so sometimes I use more than a recipe calls for! Enjoy your lasagna!

Fresh parsley usually just adds more taste than the dried version. Use a little more dry than what the recipe calls for.

Alot of groc stores now have small portions of herbs. I usually end up wasting them so I typically use dry too.
