Sorry, you can't get rid of the burnt taste. Use it for compost, your garden will give you the raves your coworkers won't. Don't despair, it happens to all of us.

do not stir your soup. get another container to pour the soup in.do not scrap or stir the soup that is sticking to the sides/bottoms of the pot.The soup should be fine now, as long as you didn't disturb any of the burnt parts.reheat the soup.it should be good

i think i have heard of potatoes to do soak up a burnt taste.
or you could call it cajun - i think cajun food has that burnt taste.
