My daughter was very slow at potty training, and would rather surprise me by going to the bathroom on the floor, chairs, or whereever she's located than to use the toilet.
My home is starting to smell like a filthy urinal! How can I get this terrible smell out of bedding, chairs, floors, etc?

What do people with pets do? I know sometimes pets have accidents too. How do they remove the smell?

My daughter is a little developmentally delayed and I refuse to "spank" her for having an accident. I really wish you people had better options than reverting to child abuse.

If she is in "big girl" undies, then she needs to know that if she cannot got potty on the toilet, she will need to go into baby diapers again. Use banking soda. It is harmless to your children and helps to absorb and eliminate odors. When you are doing laundry, add in your normal soap and top it off with about 1/4 cup of baking soda (depending on size of laundry - for smaller loads use less). If you need to clean the carpet, while it s wet, clean with a regular carpet cleaner, or hand soap and pat to dry. When the spot is totally dry, sprinkle the area with baking soda and leave on there for 30 minutes, then vacuum . That should get the smell out. Good luck!

You could try using Natures miracle, you can get it at petsmart. Its like 25.00 for 1/2 gallon. I had to get some to take out a horrible smell in my daughters room after she threw up all over. Its actually for pet urine.

can you get any of the items outside?
full beautiful sunlight will help get rid of some of the smell.
when my daughter wet her bed or my bed i used a mix of vinegar and hot water to scrub the area with immediatley then poped it out in the sun for the day.
you have a vinegar smell for a while but its better than urine!!!

Its not often I agree with children who use txt in their communication, but I have to go with the first answerer on this one.

Ive potty trained a lot of kids, we never allowed this issue. Its uncalled for.

Anyway, the carpet you're just going to have to replace, the pad can never be cleaned without being removed. Until then, get a steam carpet cleaner and clean the hell out of it.

The other items you can try greased lightning on, but if its fabric with padding under it you're probably going to have to give it up. The amonia in the padding is almost impossible to get ridof, and eventually it starts rotting and the smell is unbearable.

Try white vinegar on the beds, it takes the pee stains out. My friend gave me that advice and it works pretty well. I couldn't get it all out but it got most out.
