they do work FROM THE ARTICLE; You hear it all the time: "Fences don't work. Fences don't work," said Mark Winder, a transplanted New Englander and part-time deputy sheriff who lives on a small ranch outside Columbus, N.M., where a 3-mile stretch of wall was completed in August. "I live 2½ miles from the border, and the fence is working." full article ON THE LINK

There are fences around the White House with ARMED MARINES gaurding them. That is what we need on the border as well.

The border is 1951 miles long, that is 3433760 Yards. posting an Armed Soldier along the border every 100 yards would then take 34378 Armed Forces Personell. There are around 120,000 troops in Iraq. End the war, bring our Trops home and have them protect our southern border, with DEADLY FORCE.

I say build the wall and station an ARMED Marine, Navy, Army of National Gaurd personell every 100 yards with a crate of ammo and a sniper riffle every 100 yards with orders to secure our border at all costs. Orders to shoot to kill anyone entering our country ILLEGALLY.

This would work.

They are, in part, symbolic. Also, there are Secret Service agents around the white house. Walls and fences work /better/ when manned by men with guns.

Good point.

All the people that complain about the plans for a border wall/ fence are such hypocrites. There wouldn't even be a need for a wall if those same people would simply respect our border in the first place!

If we put the money into the Border wall and the people protecting it along with the other security measures that the White House has it would for sure work. But we won't will we?

Not sure why you say they don't work. Most of them do what they're supposed to - keep people out. If you're referring to illegal immigration, the fence for that is only very partially built.

The triple fence will slow them way down at the very least.
