Because after I saw the pictures i was scared, and then i was like "it could never have a life, and i could never love it even if it was my child"? Then I was like dang thats rude of me. Im only 14 but I planned on having kids. now i don't want to, cuz if their was a chance that it happened?? Could you still love it?

Sadly, babies like that are usually not long for this world - yet I have read about one fellow who was born like that and was an athlete in as many sports as possible - I'm not sure how he's doing now, but the fellow was certainly living life better than a lot of people do.

It's a very, very, very rare thing. Plus, you're still young - don't worry about it and enjoy the life you've got.

Harlequin Baby Syndrome

Usually the skin is so fragile that during birth it rips and tears, causing it to bleed, that is probably what you saw around the eye area, that's why the mouth looks like it's bleeding as well, because the most delicate skin (mouth, eyelids etc) would be the first to tear. It's not rude of you, it's a scary situation to be in if you had a child like that, and often we just don't want to think about it. The others are correct, children with Harlequin Syndrome rarely live for long, so I would love a child for as long as I had them, and hoped for a peaceful passing and end to their suffering.

When a baby is born with this disease, there is normally no chance of living at all, and the short time wehn the baby is alive it is in extensive care, so basically you will never really have time to get too know your baby. This is a very rare disease anyway, so i don't think that you have to worry about giving birth to this type of baby.

Hi, I saw a picture of that before and yes it looks terrible. I am willing to bet that after you carry and love a child for 9 months you would feel differently. I'm sure I would be shocked to have a child with this problem, but of course I would love it. Plus this disease is very rare.

The children that survive have life long skin issues, but I've seen shows on Discovery Health and their parents love them just the same. You love your child no matter what.
