His doctor did give up papers to get it checked again, we are going tomarroe morning. I'm just wondering what could cause it other than diabetes? Could eating high sugar food before testing cause it to be a little elevated?

Thats strange, they never said anything about fasting, except for this time he said not to let him eat 2 hours before the test.???

Yeah, eating before the test can definitely impact it. My wife was diagnosed with Pre-Natel Diabetes becuase of the same issue.

Make sure he doesnt get anything sugary to drink between now and the test and I would probably only feed him eggs or something with nothing but protein in it.

Best of luck Violet.

A glucose can also be elevated if the child is sick or dehydrated. I can't believe they didn't tell you to have him fast before the test. Anything high in sugar will for sure effect that results.

Um, yes. He's not supposed to eat anything before the test, atleast 8 hours before.

Didnt they give you instructions? Any time a person eats anything, especially grains or anything with sugar the blood glucose will rise. Thats why you dont eat anything before.
