Ok, this is really wierd, Last night as i was cooking, my dog was playing with her toys, after a few minutes she was barking really loud and sounded angry, i went to see, she was looking at the isle way, I though that my flatmate was probably teasing her, but he was not at home, She kept barking as if she saw something or someone, I was surprized because she is a very lovely and playful dog she would NEVER bark at anyone. It felt strange, I felt as if someone was there. I hugged my dog and calmed her, but she kept looking there for a few seconds then she became quiet, but after that she followed me to the kitchen and sat right beside me in a position as if she was guarding me or something. It was raining, anyway, I freaked, but after sometime there was this strong wind, but after that I felt light, my dog went back to her toys and she seemed normal again. Am I overreacting, or was there really some kinda spirit or something, personally I never paid much interest to these things.

But, now after last night, I am rethinking. Have you been through anything like this? Or is this normal dog behaviour...

All animals can sense things that humans cannot. Since we cannot see or sense what they are, we can only guess at what is happening.

But its documented from almost all animals all over the world all through history. Animals can sense storms before they are seen, earthquakes hours before they come, what some call ghosts and the list goes on and on.

Best thing to do as an animal owner. Know your pets as it seems you do. Realize when an action is out of the ordinary and act accordingly.

I've been here for just over 3 years. I joined in December 2006 and answered mainly in the Dog Section from the beginning. What's changed? Raw feeding is ten times more popular and common among the members. When I first joined, you rarely heard about it, now it's become the "only right way" to feed a dog for many. Even discussion of high-quality kibble wasn't all that common when I joined. So I guess how and what people feed their dogs has changed a lot, at least here in the DS. Don't know about the "outside world." :P

I've never seen any proof, but some people believe dogs (and other animals) can see "spirits" and that sort of thing. Whether you believe this or not depends on how you feel about the existence of spirits.

It has been proved that animals can predict natural phenomena, such as earthquakes and dangerous weather, but that could be explained by the animals' improved senses.

Since I DO BELIEVE in spirits and believe they are all around us, I also believe dogs can see them. So, I don't doubt your dog was aware of your special visitors that night.

We feel and see things all the time, its just that most people pay no attention to it because; This civilization says that its not normal but crazy. How is knowing your self crazy, but this State is based on making most of its money out of sick ands blind (mentally), so why would they want a whole bunch of aware people walking around.

My dog does the same thing. I have found odd things around the house afterwards,on the outside. Like someone was there outside, so I usually don't dismiss his actions.

Well, dogs can certainly sense things we can't.
That happened to me, also.
Who knows?
Maybe they can.
I get a strange sensation, and then my dog comes to sit by me.
Almost like protecting me.
Maybe they just feel the weird sensation we feel.
They're loyal furballs!
