Know all the bible people.
Matt.1:1-17; The genealogy of Jesus.
Heb.11:1-40; 12:1,2; Know the story of each person, get well acquainted with
the bible books and the people in the books.
Know he priest line 1Chr.6:1-15;
Know the king line 1Chr.3:9-17; Ruth 4:18-22; All about David's family.
Know the Judges from Joshua after Moses to Samuel.
Become familiar with each book and verses that give the people there place and time as Acts 13:20,21; 450 years after Exodus, Paul has figured it out, why can't we?
As Gal.3:16-18; 430 years after Abraham is given the Promised Land covenant [ at 427 years after the flood that was year 1656 ], the heirs will get the law from Exodus 12:37,40,41; at 430 years after [ to 470 with Moses and 471 with Joshua, Judges 11:26; 300 years to Jephthah ], and from Exodus is 450 to Samuel, [ and Moses at Exodus to next 40 years, and 480 to 1Ki.6:1; Solomon year 4, Solomon has 36 years left ], then examine and re-examine, this is the bible, [ who fits into the 430 years and how? this is being sure ], if a book is going to be examined, get it right, especially man's history.

How long does the Promised Land last, what and when it its destruction?

How many kings did the Promised Land have from Saul to the end and how
many years involved? The year, the time after the flood and the time before Christ is so important, I can not imagine that dozens aren't hand and hand or head to head to figure it out to see about all the time to SALVATION, all but day and hour.

WHAT??? Catholic Bible vs Christian Bible? That isn't smart considering the fact that Catholics are Christian. Do you mean what Books are in the Christian Bible vs the Protestant Bible? Or what books did the Jews eliminate from the Septuagint whilst the created their Hebrew canon back around ninety-ninety 5 advert? And why did the Protestants undertake that distinctive Hebrew Canon? Any way the Jews bumped off Tobias, Judith, know-how, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch, a million Machabees, & 2 Machabees (a.ok.a. The 7 DeuteroCanonical books). The Protestants then observed this canon.

It is a lot of work, but if you want to become a doctor it would require a lot of hard work, and because that's what you truly want it would be worth the sacrifices you would have to make. The same is true of our relationship with God. Reading the Bible, studying the Bible is not easy, but if you truly want to know about the God of the Bible, the only true God, it requires study, meditation and putting into practice what you are learning, and that requires a lot of time, but in the end it will be well worth it. Life everlasting in paradise awaits those who actually take the time.

I've been studying the Bible for many years, and I still don't know it all. I somehow doubt that I ever will, but that isn't what's important to me. I know what the purpose of the Bible is, what differrence reading it has made to my life, and that's the most important thing.

Of course, I know some Scriptures off by heart, as do most Christians who have been reading the Bible for several years, but it's what they mean that matters, rather than what they say.

I don't think anyone knows the Bible THAT well!

But you can get more familiar with your Bible by reading it more, and teaching others about what you learn.

Personally, I know certain parts of the Bible by heart because people usually ask the same questions in the ministry. Why- some pages open all by themselves from overuse!!!

It only takes twenty or thirty minutes a day for reading and a little longer for study. If you do this everyday you soon learn a lot. And that still leaves plenty of time for doing all the others things that people need to do, like go to work, raise our kids, read other things, watch tv, etc. It's not that unusual for someone to spend time on the things that are important to them.

I only know two men who can do this.

They are both of retirement age and have been reading that word of God for a very long time.

I am in awe when I have my bible open and they not only read it word by word to mine, but he can stop and explain it also.

I strive to have that knowledge of Gods word one day. One day at a time, I read and reread and study and restudy.
We have a book that opens the mysteries of the world. I want to read and reread it until I am given the understanding that my heart and soal seeks.

Yes those Christians must devote a lot of time to be able to quote the Bible the way they do.
I have to re-read the passage to be able to quote it.
I also go to http://www.biblegateway.com if I want to quote a Bible passage, then I can copy & paste.

I didn't realize there was such a thing. Even the Christians I know who are reasonably well-educated about the Bible still get stumped occasionally.

A great many of the self-professed Christians I know don't know the first thing about the Bible.

Now *that* strikes me as scary...
