Let me ask you this, how was YOUR first birthday?
You don't remember, do you?
The thing you need to understand is that a one-year-old doesn't know what a year is or what a birthday is.
The celebration is mostly for the parents, and to get the standard "cake all over baby's face" pictures.
So forget hiring fast food places, clowns, games the baby can't participate in, or any of the other "let's invite 90 million people to a party that will only scare the baby and make it cranky?" type things.
A small family celebration, with a few people who also care about the baby. Everyone makes a fuss over him and sings to him; he gets some presents (which he doesn't even understand, since he's too young to know about presents), and there's a cake, which he can smear all over his face while someone takes pictures.
Save the big-deal parties for later, when the guest of honor can appreciate them.
BTW, the formula for a child's birthday party is: One guest per year of the child.

I've been to several 1 yr olds b-day parties...and they are usually at a home with more adults then children I guess because the child doesn't really know what's happening yet...so just BBQ, have people over and chat...do the whole present thing...the last one we went to they did Tye Dying which was pretty cool again more for the grown-ups but it worked. Good Luck! Parks are always good too for a 1st! I worked at Chuck E Cheese's for a while those parties are best for 4 and 5 yr. olds and possibly 3's...

RE:
Do anyone have any idea's for a one year old's Birthday Party?
My baby is turning on next month and I am so stuck I don't know what to do. I wanted to do Chuck E Cheese but he won't be able to do anything, then I was thinking of birthday party with a clown, and pinata but his cousin who is a month older has already did that, then I was thinking of...

just have a simple party at home, you don't have to pay any more than you already are to use the place :P and all your relatives most likely know where it is so you don't have to repeat directions 10 billion times. Get a theme going of maybe your little guys favorite show or stuffed animal. They have themed paper plates/cups/table cloths at party city. Just keep it simple...there's plenty of time for the bigger parties when he's older and can remember them. Good luck

We just did chuck e cheese and were disappointed because the website advertised a toddler area, but when we got there, there were only three small rides for toddlers. Some toddler area! However, he had a blast! He loved chuck e cheese, he kept trying to touch the teeth? We wanted a place where the older kids, and the adults would have something to do as well as the younger kids. It worked out pretty good. He also loved skee ball. The best part- no mess to clean up at you home! And you don't have to bring anything but the kid and the presents!

We just had my one year old's birthday - at home. This being my second child I learned the best party (while they are little) is to have the child comfortbale, typically at home.
Create the theme using something THEY like so they will have fun- we did baby einstein and had several tv's set up playing the videos.
The cake was Baby Einstein, mapkins the whole caboodle !
He loved it !!!
Also- make sure you take TONS of photos !!!!

Party at home, bouncy castle, bubble machine and parachute. Could have a theme as well. Don't go over the top on food cause the kids will be so excited they won't eat anyway.

As a one year old I think it would be really fun to have a cake and ice cream at home with mom and dad because I'm not going to remember this day at any time during my entire life.

Do something healthy, McDonalds is the last way to go. Get some natural stuff and cook up a good menu on your own. It's so much better for young kids to get used to eating natural foods. Like organic pizza, and homemade cookies with natural recipes. Then have some activities that are simple and fun to do. Like an children's entertainer.

A one year old party is more for the parents. A one year old doesn't understand and will be happy anywhere.
