Although Jehovah's Witnesses are doing God's work, you can't expect everyone to agree with that. When God's own Son, Jesus Christ, came to earth, how many believed he was doing God's work? Only a very small number of Jews. Most of the Jewish nation ignored his teachings. Why, they even had Jesus murdered for what he taught. Can Jesus' true followers today expect any less from the world? No. At John 15:18, 19, Jesus said to his disciples: "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you."
Although the world hates us, we still have a God-given work to do. As Jesus said at Matt. 28:19, 20: "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nation, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you."

OK... it's not exactly inappropriate to ask this question on line...it's just that it's only so much the few Witnesses on line can say to help you. I've asked a question once on line and some of the brothers responded to me. The reason I ask is because I felt I didn't get the support I needed from the brothers in my congregation. The fact that you guys are married is a plus. FORGET what the members of the congregation think about you and your influence on your husband. After all it's only imperfect human we're dealing with. Going to parties and drinking alcohol is not necessarily against Jehovah's standards, but it's a conscious thing, and if done in abundance it is harmful. How about socializing in get together that the congregation has? In my congregation there's a lot of youths and what the presiding overseer does is try to have a lot of social activities for the young ones so they won't get sucked in worldly desires. My advise...sit and pray with your husband to Jehovah about your situation. Go to the elders for counseling. There are older couples in the congregation that should be able to help you and your huband. Make an earnest effort to attend meetings regularly. You and your husband's spirituality is totally up to both of you. The fact that you feel guilty about the things that go against Jehovah's standards shows that you Have a repentant attitude. Don't give up. There are times as Christians we feel that Jehovah has forsaken us, but the scriptures say that when we feel he's really far from us, that's when he's closest. Oh and one more thing... obey the teaching of Jehovah when he says..."Don't forsake the gatherings of your brothers.." I hope I've helped and encourage you a bit. May Jehovah's love for you and your husband help you to become spritually strong.. Love you guys Nads.

People give us a hard time because they do not know their Bibles enough to explain their own beliefs, so they resort to slander and attacks. Doesn't change anything though.

1-short answer is we are easy to pick on.
2-we dont carry guns, we are sorta like pacifists in that
we dont fight with anyone for anyone.
3- most people have NO IDEA who we are or what we do
4- some people have way too much time on their hands.
it makes for good jokes on goofy sitcoms.

Well jehovah's witnesses are a pain in the as.s. it is not God's work they do, it is their work..they made it their mission to shove their beliefs down everyone's throat. i am a Jew and i do not like them knocking on my door and expecting me to listen to their endless yaking about what they believe in..so i tell them please leave and i slam the door in their face. Now maybe if you can see it from another's point of view you can see why people give them a hard time

They are not doing the work of God
They are trying to bring in a kingdom that is to be brought in by the Jews during the tribulation. (144,000 virgin Jewish men )
They had to make their own version of the Bible to agree with their twisted doctrine.
The only god they work for is the god of this world

I do not see it that way. They are teaching the false message, so they are NOT doing work for God, but they are indeed trying to "do God's work "

Sorry but they teach a false Christianity. They are not doing God's work but are instead doing Satan's by leading people away from Jesus.
