Sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the good work. Maybe you should think of joining Weight Watchers. It really helps to go to meetings and have the support of others. Plus, they reward you with every pound you lose.

First, stop referring to yourself as "sad". If you are truly depressed over your weight, then you are already taking the right step in losing weight. If, however, your "sadness" is due to something else, then you desperately need to speak with a friend, parent, teacher, or psychiatrist.
Second, without giving us your sex, height, and weight, there is not way to say whether your diet is safe or not.
Third, the vague phrase "early next year" is only a few months away. While 30-40 lbs (n.b., there's only one "L", not two as you listed it) may seem to be a reasonable target for, say, April or May, your physiology may not be able to tolerate such a dramatic loss by, say, January.
Proceed cautiously, and stop being "sad"!

Keep working on your program and be happy with who you are and the size you are or want to be. I was a very fat child and loved myself that way. That was my choice. Make your own and go forth and be that way.
