I have had hay fever and severe allergies since I was very young. Pollen, dust, perfumes, they all wreak havoc on my system. But I will not go into detail about the other allergic reactions since the question pertains to a dust allergy.
My Solution: Dust on a regular basis, wash your bedding often, use perfume and dye free detergent (you may be allergic to this on your bed also) and most important use the protectabed product which is a breathable mattress cover that is a dust mite buster and also use the pillow covers that are available. Oh, and also wash your face a couple or a few times a day if your makeup permits it.
If you have to, get new pillows and cover them right away with the dust mite cover. If your mattress is old, a new purchase may be smart also!
Good luck with your battle, I do know what you are going through!

Actually, I have a severe allergy to them as well. I recommend a prescription medicine and to really clean the place you live. The dust mites in my room were really bad and all i had to do was dust and i could feel an improvement. The prescription i use is allegra d and claritan. I hope this helps and i hope it gets better, i know they are a pain!!

Get a mattress cover for your bed. They make some now that are pretty soft. So you dont feel like your sleeping on plastic. Also, claratin is a good med to take but if your symptoms are really bad you might want to check into getting tested for allergies. The shots work wonders....
