Yes. I've been told that it's 'ignorant' to want to believe in something like God....but I think it's a human need to believe that there is a God. I don't find it insulting when someone tells me I need that because I'm afraid to open my eyes or whatever.....I think God has made us this way.....if that made sense.....
If not...email me and I'll try to explain it better.

If you didn't know what was fiction and what was not, the book would have been ignored and thrown out centuries ago.
Those who think the Bible is fiction are the ones who also act like they don't have anything to be paid for. That is because they believe they will not be held accountable for things they have done so long as nobody knows about them.
We all have guilt and we all fear consiquences of evils that we have ever done or even thought about. Only a fool would say otherwise. Athiests just don't believe that there will ever be consiquences. They want to be responsible for their own actions because of this belief...ya right. They have no idea what lies ahead, but God will not deny them of their right to choose who pays the consiquence for their actions.

To "just believe" does not make a reality. Your sin remains and your life after death is a crap shoot of what lies beyond. Make up your best afterlife scenario--it will not change.
The Bible is God's Word, this is provable.

If you choose to ignore it based on the popular religion that is science, then you must answer for this. But the fact remains clear that science has no hope for what occurs after life ceases. It has nothing on which to observe or test. Once a person dies, and is dead for a day or two--science, in all its knowledge, cannot bring them back for discovery for what lies beyond.
It seems as if science today is more concerned with discrediting the given evidence in order to hold on to its own lack of knowledge. And thus, those who hold to science for their religion, choose the dangerous road of "taking ones chances that the Bible is false" regarding the afterlife. A dangerous gamble indeed seeing eternity is in the balance.
Science is limited to the physical. Your soul is eternal. The Bible deals with what is eternal where science cannot venture. The physical realm will pass away, and science will pass away with it. What you want to do is latch onto that which will last forever, and that is the Word of God.

Nah. It's not cool at all. I don't like strangers paying for my messups. I mean it's fine on a case by case basis, with a sort of pay-it-forward understanding, but that's not what I'm getting from a lot of Christian theology. Christ as emulable example is great. Christ as cleanup man is irresponsible and infantilizing. People need to learn responsibility, not blame, but pro-active responsibility, for their world and for each other. There's plenty of that in the Bible, but that's not what I hear being read.

The Bible is 100% non - fiction.
It is very cool that someone (Jesus Christ) paid for our sins a.k.a. spiritual wrongdoings
Regarding Science - The conclusions of science are ALWAYS tenative.
Regarding the Bible - All Biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled to date has been 100% accurate.
Regarding Science. Scientific Law can be be destroyed with just ONE counter-example. For example Lowell's theory about canals on Mars, all it took was a better telescope to put that theory to rest.
If you are at all interested in end time prophecy, I would suggest reading and studying the Bible in an indepth way. Pray and ask God for understanding as you study.

No i do not think that it would be cool that someone was born into this World with the express purpose of dying a slow tortuous death by Crucifixion. I am not a Sadist. Nor would i be glad or willing to let another suffer for my wrong doings. If there were a Creator i would rather answer to him myself for my mistakes.

Sure it would be cool to believe. It's when people act like there is scientific proof in it, but refute any other science that the whole matter becomes ridiculous. As long as people realize they're taking a leap of faith, that's a cool thing to believe as long as people don't become less accountable for their wrongdoings.

Why believe something you know to be false just because it's cool?
I think it's cool to believe that cake is the most nutritious food in the world... but it's not.
It'd be cool to just believe that I have a billion dollars... but I don't.
And so on. Reality does not conform to our wishes. Sorry.

Of couse it would be nice if their were an afterlife with a heaven .
But it makes no sense to believe that god created a son so that this son could be sacraficed to himself in exchange for forgivess of everybody's "Original Sin" .
The concept of ritually sacraficing animals , virgin women and other people , in exchange for consideration by the being it is offered to , is an old superstition . It is based of giving gods negative human characteristics . For instance a man says "Please all powerful king , let me keep some of my farm . To prove how sincere I am in my respect of your power and my alligence to you , I will kill my best goat in your honor .
Then people figured there must be some one more powerful than these kings , so they started "figuring out" what god ( king of kings) was like .They decided he was like an earthly king with more power . And so with limited knowledge and a burden of superstion , they formed the rituals of sacraficial killing . This was a "logical" way of people getting things from god in those days . So the Catholics decided that THE "biggie" to attract people to their new religion would be freedom from the Original Sin for all who joined up . It would no longer be necessary to be born a Jew to be saved . The way they got the power to wash away the original sin ( Baptism) was it was given to them by god after Jesus sacraficed himself while asking god ( his father) to give a way for people to be rid of mortal sin . All this sounded VERYYYYY logical to the people back then .
Of course why would god have given every newborn baby a sin that prevented them from heaven ? And why would god so powerful have a debate between himself and his son ( later to be born out of a human woman in order to get to earth ???) as to have or not have a way for non Jews to be saved . And why did the son have to let himself be killed to win the arguement ?
Whole lot of nonsense goin' on !

It is pretty cool that God would give us a way to be free from the bondage of sin.
I believe the Bible to be FACT, no fiction at all.
