I was just curious if my GSD male should be bred
he is V2 Mutz Von Der Piste Trophe Sch3 Fh3 Kkl1a with a ZW of 72... do you think anyone would want to breed to him? Any help or advice would be great

haha..you are no fun Basset
I just wanted to see how closed minded people are...yes he has produced several litters... he outproduces himself... He has been bred to working line females, showline females and AKC showline girls...he is an amazing dog. He is however an old fart now...neutered and just loving life on the farm... we do have him frozen and stored but do not plan to use it anytime soon... someday though!

I just wanted to see what people would say presented with a dog of his quality... he certainly is not a BYB dog

one more thing....people need to understand that if we do not breed from time to time our breeds will die out.. I know there are plenty of BYBs out there..and some say they are producing enough....but what they are producing are inferior to what the breed really is about... good ethical breeders are going to keep their breeds alive. I commend those that dedicate themselves to breeding quality, healthy dogs that conform to the standard as best they can...
I am going to breed...certainly not for a profit but because I feel they are going to produce quality offspring that will keep are breeds going!
SO all of you so called dog lovers that want to bash anyone that says they stand a stud or had a litter... if you want to continue to have the wonderful fuzzy buddies then give the good breeders their props

Ragapple
very well said... not sure the Sch3 would qualify him in my book but the Kkl1 and his ZW of 72 are pretty impressive...not to mention the V2...but Sch3 proves his trainability and in most cases stability...

just to mention it again..he is neutered and retired from competition and breeding... he is now just our super handsome pet

we are dogster people..check out his page

Ozzy

We bred him this spring to both if our girls..neither took..we did a count on him and because of his ge it was to low to produce anymore... I want a son out of him in a big way..we are actually looking to buy a 3 yr old son of his .... we have 2 frozen breedings left of his and I do not want to waste them on just any female..so they will stay frozen until just the right girl comes along... We could only hope to get a puppy like him..he is amazing we luv him...big teddy bear

we neutered him as soon as we found out he could not produce anymore... he is our lazy old man now haha

Your dog is beautiful and you hit the nail on the head about breeding.
It's just so hard to find a breeder who truly is in it to better the breed and keep the line going rather than look at a litter and see dollar signs.I know that well from experience.
But as for your question your dog has already produced several litters and he's getting up there in years so why not get one of his pups before he goes? I would.

Hey give! save me the time looking all the titles up! the only one I know is the Sch3 (which qualifies a dog as breedable in my mind if he has no problems)
Shame isn't it when nobody reconizes breed specific titles?

Edit: grumble make me look it up - but having done so color me impressed !
the reason I asked: our whippet club has printout of whippet possible titles (including titles open to all breeds such as a CH) it covers 4 1/2 closely spaced pages! and varies from titles that are so easy people grumble that any dog who CAN'T earn them should have to turn their registration in (they ain't a real whippet) to ones so hard that the #1 dog in the country will not earn it in a years time to all breed titles earned by only one or two whippets in history..... Ya can't tell the worth of an unfamilar title.

Get serious - nice try on the numbers-very official looking.

Check petfinder- I was going to breed my female, but then saw that the GSD is the #1 homeless breed listed in their thousands of homeless dogs-yes, they do break it down by breed-and if you add the 'shepherd' designation, the number is even more shocking. Oh, and by the way, my female is a great specimen-if she were a diamond she would be F - 0 LC

If he's that wonderful, I'm surprised you haven't had inquiries from the shepherd breeders at the trials he attended.

However, if you publish a photo and pedigree in the GSDCA magazine you might get some interest.

EDIT: Actually, it appears that he's already sired 8 litters.

Please don't breed. You'll just contribute to pet overpopulation. Why not adopt instead?

EDIT
I just wanted to add my 2 cents...I'm not opposed to responsible breeding, only puppy mills and BYB.

I have a dogster page as well:
