No, that's some weird cult calling themselves Baptists lol.

The thing about Baptists is that each church is its own community, there is no hierarchy like in Catholicism. You don't have to actually BE Baptist to call yourself one apparently.

Those folks have nothing much to do with reality, they just like snakes. Me? I see a snake and I get my shovel because a dead snake is a good snake lol

When I was a kid in the 50's I saw it once or twice. We were Baptists but were visiting another church in SE NM. We were pointedly told that real Baptists don't do such things. The Scriptural basis is in some versions of Mathew where it says that true believers can't be harmed by poison. ALERT! HERE'S THE BIBLES OWN TEST FOR CHRISTIANS!!!!

I looked into it more when I was a teenager on the "Jesus Circuit" in the 60's. They store the snakes in refridgerators between "shows". I personally saw the whole behind the scenes set up. Some groups even milk the snakes before handling! Bites are really great theater because the victim can undergo a miraculous healing right before your eyes.

Now, that's what I call FAITH!!!!

There was a lady that just died in Kentucky from a snake bite in church. I do not think it was baptist. The church is suing the hospital because they said the staff was making comments. I am from Tennessee and I know it goes on here but If I ever went in a church and they let loose the snakes I would be heading for the door.

Here is the story

What you saw on 60 minutes wasn't Texans doing this but people living in the Appalachians.

The humorous element is that WBC is reckoning on the regulation in the cities the place they conflict to fireplace up difficulty to guard them. How do you think of it is going to teach out while the families of the lifeless and injured end enjoying the super, "that is all ok, they have the in simple terms right to do this" interest, wade in throwing punches, and the law enforcement officers start up finding any incorrect way? After some bigots finally end up in the medical institution, and that they could walk homestead simply by fact all their transport became into set on hearth, i in my opinion think of they are going to have interaction is a few severe soul finding.

It wasn't Baptists. But yes there are really some who do this, but mainly in the Apostolic, Pentecostal movements.

I've never seen it personally but I'm sure it's probably been done and if I have to name the denomination I think it would be Pentecostal.
Gotta love those Pentecostals.

Now you have pinned this act on baptists , it will forever be in the "mind" of some of these people .Why did you use that word? Why did you not say "muslim" or " catholic" . answer is this ; simply because the devil does not attack his own religions

What you saw is true of some. It is unwise, many deaths over the years, and they cannot truly justify it with scripture,
