I worry that he is going to hurt her. He pins her down and tried to hump her. I notice it is after she has used the catbox. Any suggestions on how to get him to stop? She defends herself pretty well but He gets kicked and scratched in the process.

I have a male and a female, both have been "fixed". The male, and they are adults now, still continues to jump the female and "hump" her. Everything that I can find on the subject suggests that the male is asserting his dominance over the female. Funny, because the female gives back much better than she gets. I don't try to get them to stop or interfere in any way. It's their nature, it's just what they do. They won't hurt each other although a little fur might fly. Really, don't worry, they're fine.

I have two cats of my own and I am almost positive that they are just playing. Most cats really enjoy paying with other cats and even if you had another male cat then I am pretty sure he would do the same thing. if not then it may be that these cats like eachother like friends but unlike you and me they can not communicate to eachother by talking on the internet.

Catbox wars are inevitable when you have two moggies. I had two toms and although it never got to fisticuffs it was a case of "who could fill the box the most" competitions.

Don't worry, it's pefectly normal - as normal as any cat behaviour, because as a long-term cat owner I can assure you, cats are weird and no two are alike.
He will probably grow out of it. I have a male kitty who was what they call a "suckler" - when he ate on my lap, he would immediately attempt to suckle! This was disconcerting and somewhat messy - but he grew out of it(some don't, ugh!).
One of my other male neutered cats used to sit on my lap, and start to make surreptitious "bottom movements" - his equivalent of wanking!! I used to throw him off when he did that - but he eventually grew out of it. (He used to get a sly little look on his face when he did it, the little bugger!)

they're KITTENS... they are going to act like that. they will chase each other around for a long time. kittens don't start to calm down until they're at least a year old, so this is normal behavior.
