what do you think are the main points that should be covered when writing a paper on deforestation?

1--what are the human-made causes of deforestation?
2--what are the nature-created causes? Does global warming contribute to deforestation?
3--the increase in deforestation in the past few decades and estimates of how many acres a day are lost
4--a few examples of what happens when deforestation occurs (mudslides, loss of topsoil, loss of habitat for endangered species, etc.)
5--a few things that are being done to counteract--remember that reforestation is helpful, but doesn't make up for losing older, virgin forests.

Whichever topics you choose, I would limit to 3-4 items under each topic to make it managable.

The terrible floods in Ormoc, Leyte, and another flood, devastion, deaths in Southern Leyte. All because of deforestations! Mountain folks "slash & burn" the forest to plant root crops and bananas as their means of income, without thinking of the consequences. Camote and banana plants will not stop heavy rain-floods from the mountains to inundate barrios and towns below.

One more thing: "slash & burn" dries up sources of water for the barrio folks. A good example is barangay Bagalangit in Mabini, Batangas. Mang Maneng Medina used to tell me that during his youthful days, they used to "igib" water from a nearby creek. That creek had dried up years back, because of "slash & burn" methods of agriculture.
