Princess has several ships cruising to Alaska from May through September (before and after that it's too cold and icy there).
Princess is a premium cruise line, fairly luxurious and ALL about romance, especially if you're able to book a cabin with a balcony (although in Alaska, depending on the month, it may be too chilly or rainy to be on the balcony for long!). The balcony, however, would provide a good vantage point for wildlife and scenery viewing.
Alaska is such a popular cruising destination in the summer there will be a good mix of passengers of all ages.
Congratulations and have a great honeymoon!

I'm way under 40 (in my 20's and my husband and I just went on an Alaskan cruise). It was the most amazing vacation I've ever had. It was really beautiful, and we saw all kinds of wildlife. I recommend it to anybody of any age. It can still be romantic as you get to spend lots of time by yourself if you'd like. I strongly recommend Princess Cruiselines. The service and food was terrific, and the boat was not a ridiculously large ship (I actually liked the smaller size). I say go for it!!!!

Very romantic and well worth it. I go on a cruise almost every year and mostly took them in the caribian (sp). Those got pretty old to me so I went with my g/f at the time on an alaskan cruise. It had by far the best on boat entertainment.. Very beautiful up there.. definitly more of a romantic cruise then the old wake and bake sun drenched ones.

It really depends on the cruise line and the time of year you are going. The summers generally get lots of family. Cruise lines, like Carnival and Royal Caribbean generally see younger passengers. Royal Caribbean has more activities for passengers in their 20s-40s and is a bit less than the party atmosphere on Carnival.

I saw one episode on travel channel abt an Alaskan cruise....it seemed really good and fun
However it didnt seem 'honeymoon' material in the sense that the ship was more filled with family, seniors etc.
I think a cruise to bahamas near Cayman or Cancun etc wud be much more fun...
Just my view...neways Congrats!
