When I was 5 and looking out the window, I turned to my mom and said "God is a woman". Then around 14, I found out that their were other people who believed that too... I did some research on it and found out that a lot of my own beliefs matched up. Instant switch. Raised a Catholic.

I was an atheist without religion when I came to Paganism. Now I'm an atheist (technically) with a religion, lol.
None of my family is Pagan, but I was at that curious stage in my life (age 12 or so) when I wanted all kinds of philosophical questions answered quickly and easily. Obviously I never got quick and easy answers, but I did get a lot of exploration done and ended up studying Paganism. The rest is history.
There were a lot of little moments where the lightbulb went off, not one big epiphany.

One day, I just happened to come across a book about Paganism. It caught my attention and after reading it I realized that all my current feelings and beliefs were a much better match for what Paganism is than for the religion I was raised as, Judaism.

Paganism sort of chose me. I have always been eclectic with my philosophical/religious beliefs. I find there is truth in all the religions but my practices were more pagan in nature. I am a live and let live sort of person. The family I grew up with were all very eclectic in their beliefs. I was sort of raised Catholic but went through a journey of trying out different religions. Growing up I could never understand the belief in a heavenly father without a heavenly mother. Just didn't make sense!

I didn't choose a path. I just finally began to practice what I knew and believed since childhood, rather than the religion I was raised in, or the one's people around me were practicing.
"Choosing" didn't work for me, because even if something looked good on paper or sounded like a great religion, if I did't believe it, or it didn't mesh with reality, it didn't work for me.
I've been actively practicing my faith for 15 years. I was raised Catholic, and after I left that faith attended several Protestant churches and a UU church, but none of those worked for me.
My family of origin is Catholic, my family (spouse and kids) are agnostics. I am a pantheist.

there wasn't one moment, i was just born this way but didn't have a name for it until adulthood. i suppose a defining moment was when i had called a lady who had an article written about her beliefs in the paper. we talked for a couple of hours and at one point she just plainly said, it's no wonder you called me for info about paganism, you're a witch. at that point i realized what/who i always had been.

There wasn't a single moment, in fact I believe it was something I was leading to all my life.
I was an anglican, and I still find nothing wrong with christianity on a whole, it's just not for me.
