My theory instructor asked us to find this out before the next class. I have a couple theories but am not sure if they are correct. Thanks for the help.

Yes hypothroid related.

It controls sweating (aids in cooling, hence the temperature rise)

It also controls blood flow by pumping more blood to the skin, where it hydrates the tissues so its warmth can be dissipated. If it can't pump blood to the skin so the warmth can be dissipated the temperature rises.

I think it has mor to do with the electron chain metabolism pathway. That is, since there is no more oxygen(no breathing), there is no final cceptor in the electron transport chain and energy is dissipated as heat, sort of an electrochemical dissociation.
