Well, think back to the Apostle Paul--he worked and was in ministry. This is not unsual. Even seasoned pastors are working fulltime jobs and leading churches. Although they maybe leading a small group--God is still in this work.
There is no shame in working--and continuing to develop your ministry. This does not mean you lack faith. Did Paul lack faith when he worked a job instead of building a ministry? Didn't God build the ministry for him? Didn't he put him exactly where he was needed and use him how he chose?
God will bring the increase, you plant the seeds or water the seeds others have planted.
I pray that you have great wisdom to seek God's timing. No matter how hard we try if God isn't ready to bring you into the fullness of the ministry He has planned for you--you are only working against God.
There is no striving when God takes control and directs our paths--we simply need to surrender and ask God to show us what we need to have to walk in peace.
Obey what you know is right--a man shall not eat if he does not work. God loves you and wants to mature you in the everyday things to prepare you for a great ministry.
I lift these things up before the Lord,
In Jesus Name.
Amen

God's callings come with timing. It is obvious that you feel called into ministry, but that may not be for now especially if you are struggling getting the funds. I would consider working for awhile. I don't know what type of ministry, but a lot of colleges offer degree programs for ministry on a part time basis. You might consider that option, too.

A person must find a working relationship with God and not look for "signs" . The relationship is I do the foot work guided by Spiritual Principals (love, compassion, tolerance, patience, courage and many more), my thoughts, words and deeds are guided by them, this aligns me with Gods will. It all starts now, right in this moment, not tomorrow or "when I get there". We must learn when to "let go", we do our part and then it is out of our hands and look at the outcome as a learning lesson. We get our mettle tested through disappointments, find joy in them, it makes us human. Never put expectations on God it may cause a resentment, gain acceptance, " it is what it is".

First. STOP listening to other people. They, WE, do not have the answer.
Listen for God. He will lead, IF you will let him. Sometimes the road you are on, is so hard because, you have to have a test, BEFORE, you have a testimony. Sometimes it is hard Because you are not on the right road. Have faith that you are right where God wants you to be.
Faith is a verb too. It is important for you to begin faithing. He acts according to YOUR faith, If you have little faith, You get little responses/actions..
Start faithing that,,,,, what you need to have, to do HIS will, as though you already have it. Thank him for it. Praise him for it.. Begin to believe it is yours and Dad will take care of the rest..

God is awesome and He leads and guides us. If this is your calling then by all means God wants you to walk in that calling. Keep praying keep the faith. Do you have a way to raise some money? I mean I know God wants us to take care of ourselves but that does not mean living outside our means. Praying for you.

Sometimes our dreams get in the way of Gods plan for our lives. It may seem proper to go about this the way you are going about it. God wants your complete trust in Him. Gods ways are not our ways!
We had a visiting preacher the other night that faced the same dilemma, he chose to just jump into ministry and God has blessed him richly because he put his personal plans aside and walked in faith.
If God has truly called you into the ministry He has qualified you to DO IT. Walk in faith my friend, I will pray for God to direct you. God doesn't desire for you to worry about what He has called you to do. Trust Him.
Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

If you look at the life of Moses and other ones in scripture they had to go through hardships before they became truly effective leaders. Many times in order to make a person more effective God allows hardship to help shape their character and personality. You see many Christians sit back and wait for a door to open...No, no, no....you push on all the doors, if it is the wrong one it won't open. All through the scriptures we are told that it is good to work. "The sleep of a working man is sweet". The fourth commandment is actually two in one where it says man should work six days and rest one. My prayer for you is that you willingly accept whatever you need to go through for the perfection of your character and that you continue being a blessing to those around you. God bless you...

Here's the funny thing about Gods.... they never make things easy! In fact, they normally ask you to do the hardest thing on your To Do list, ASAP. Especially when it comes to serving them. They're hard on average people... They can be down right ruthless to their right hand followers. Not because they're mean, but because as one of their immediate followers YOU will be representing them. You're actions show them in the best... and sometimes worst.. light. And if you seriously want to do this... It will NOT be easy. Your God isn't going to go, "Oh, you want to represent me and help guide my followers? Oh, sure. Go right ahead." On the contrary. He's probably going to do something more along the lines of... "Reeeeally? O.K. Let's see some credentials. How would you deal with this, this and this? Are you willing to overcome the obstacles? Are you willing to even try? Just how much do you want to do this?"
Why? It's the job of the Gods to guide us, help us and aid us to the best of their ability and knowledge. The average person is normally asking something of the Gods; "Will you help me...XYZ?" go the many prayers. But for a Minister, who is basically God's helper (Think Holy secretary), the question you will most often ask of God will be, "How can I help You do this?"
If you are serious about doing this you will be tested. Because God will need you to keep your eye on the goal, through thick and thin; through easy times and hard times;when you reap rewards and when you must give things up for Him. The question isn't whether God wants you to be His Minister. Odds are he'll be thrilled to have you on the roster. It's whether you're willing to to accept the challenges He places before you and meet them head on... because it definitely won't be the last time He needs you to. How far will you go and what will YOU give for Him? That's the question you need to ask... IF... you choose the path of a Minister.

Get a job, God knows the desire of your heart and what your intentions are.
"For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?" 1Timothy 3:5
Three years ago I was called to a church to preach. The night that I preached the District Bishop was there. After I finished the message, He came to the front of the church and requested that my wife Paula and I come to the front of the church. He called for the elders to come forward as well.He anointed both of us with oil, laid hands on us and sent us into the ministry. We found out later that he was not to have supposed to have done that, but guess what? God has a way of doing things that we thought were not possible. And HE can do the same for you.

God's will is alot about looking at what doors he opens for you and then walking through them in faith when he has done that for you.
I think you already know the answer to this question don't you?
