Your muscles were slightly damaged in the workout. They are being rebuilt. Given them enough protein and some rest, they will rebuild and they will be rebuilt just a little bit stronger.

The burning in your muscle is caused by your muscle being over worked without enough oxygen. The feeling fades because your muscles have been healing and BUILDING. With weight lifting the key is to always challenge yourself.
If you are trying to build mass (get bigger), try adding 5 or 10 more pounds once your current weight isn't challenging.
If you are trying to build lean muscle (trim down), do a few more reps or find a way to make your lifts a little more complex to work more muscles.

Lactic acid buildup is the reason for the burning sensation in muscles. Lactic acid is the waste product created from working muscles.

No - they still are. They are getting more efficient at using oxygen, and hurt less. Also, it means that the muscles have healed. When you work out with weights or do any muscle building work, it tears the muscles, which causes the pain.

Muscles become sore when working them out or otherwise overexerting them causes slight damage. After however many days they'll heal up, and, as any weight lifter knows, more muscle mass tends to develop as a result.

They are getting worked out. They are just getting used to the squats. Try doing more reps or adding some weights.

It means the fat is burning away and the muscles are getting stronger. Lengthen the time of the workouts. Don't give up.
