how do u flattan just a few selected layers in photo shop ?

An alternative method ( I LOVE that Photoshop allows MANY ways to do the same, or simialr actions) is to "hide" the layers you do NOT want flattened by clicking on the eyeball in the layers pallet.

Then, in the layers options, select "flatten visible."

Click on one of the layers that you want to merge. Then hold Ctrl and click on the other layers that you want to merge. You'll see a little "chain" icon appear in each of the layers as you click them (second column, just to the right of the "eye").

Then go to the menu and select Layer | Merge Linked

While holding down Ctrl, click on the layers you want to merge and then release Ctrl and right click on they layers and select Merge layers. For more tutorials in Photoshop, see this website http://www.impakcreative.com
