The corn syrup not only provides sweetness, but also helps the pie set-up. Replacing the corn syrup with maple syrup won't give you the same consistency. However, many pumpkin pie recipes DO include some maple syrup as a flavoring agent.
You could use something like 3/4cup light corn syrup, and 1/4cup maple syrup, but I don't think replacing all the corn syrup with maple syrup will give you quite a satisfactory result.
If your local store doesn't have dark corn syrup, try 3/4 cup light corn syrup and 1/4 cup molasses.

Try a different recipe that doesn't use corn syrup, as 98% of pumpkin pie recipes don't. Use sugar instead. Using a large quantity of maple syrup (more than a couple tablespoons) would dramatically affect the flavor. Google for a better recipe.

I wouldn't do that, the dark corn syrup has a neutral taste. It provides carmelization when cooking in the oven. The maple syrup will have the carmelization but the maple flavor may be over powering. You could try it like today and let us know how it turns out.

No. Corn syrup is a thickener and if you use maple syrup (or cane sugar syrup flavored with maple, which is what most 'maple syrup' is) your pie won't 'set up'.
Instead of pie you'll have wonderful pumpkin-flavored ice cream topping! May I pour you a piece of pie? 8^)

Dark corn syrup is more like molasses than maple syrup. Should be pretty easy to find.
