Since I think, in all likelihood, God doesn’t exist, the question doesn’t directly apply to me. However, I can testify that the God most people worship is unworthy of their character. Take the God of Christianity, to use to words of Richard Dawkins: The God of the Old Testament [and by extension the New Testament] is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

The God described in the Bible is worthy of our scorn and repudiation, and the Jews, Christians, and Muslims who worship him generally behave more morally and with far more restraint and compassion than he ever did. Most of them would not turn people into pillars of salt, drown them en masse, order the wholesale extermination of men, women, and children, just because someone was disobedient to them. Yet, the God these people worship, was wicked enough to do all of these things, and I have only scratched the surface of his cruelty.

So in truth, most people, including those who supplicate to God act with greater righteousness then the God they adore. Worship of him, only serves to debase their character.

I always know I'm better than any gods.

1) I don't cause people to fight at the mere mention of my name.

2) I don't cause bad things to happen to babies and have people say it's my will.

3) I would have designed the human back and knees better for our upright times. Also, untangle the mess the other gods made of the female reproductive system and reroute the male urethra around, instead of through, the prostate gland.

4) For fun, anyone would be able to change their hair color simply by wishing it, and change right back if they didn't like it.

Since when is "truth never subjective"? I was taught truth is always subjective. Silly.

Way below Him. I'm nothing, a mere piece of dust that God could simply wipe off the face of the earth in an instant if He wanted to. I thank Him for His mercy. At times I would like to believe I know a thing or two but He always finds a way to humble me.

The truth is not subjective.

And I don't ever feel above God, for I know I am an imperfect human.

Peace!

I am sorry, I prefer to feel goddesses. Sometimes from above, sometimes from below...

Above? I am just grateful that he even notices me, let alone cares for me the way he does.

As above, so below.

I am always below Him. I am smaller than the speck of dust He is stepping on.

What do you mean, 'my god'? God doesn't exist, so it's difficult to feel above or below him.

As God said, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isa 55:9)
