How do you blow your nose in public? Leave the area or do it discreetly, or what?

I've always wondered.

You excuse yourself and go to the restroom to take care of bodily functions and needs. Blowing your nose is included in that list.

I do it discreetly if it is runny. When eating with others, I'll turn away from the table and food. When on a public bus/subway and standing up, I'll use one hand to sort of wipe and blow it; I try not to use both hands because placing the used hand back on a handrail is probably quite unhygienic.

But when there's an excuse to be noisier, I take advantage of it! This type of situation includes while eating spicy food that opens your sinuses, and right after sneezing.

I never blow my nose in public I have always excused myself to another area where no-one is around.

definite its impolite, and a turn off. would you opt for for to hearken to somebody loudly blowing thier nostril authentic next to you? No, you would be grossed out and would desire to pass lunch... If a showering room is close to, pass to the bathing room. while you're indoors, then step outdoors to blow your nostril. you're an person, so the superb element to do is get some Afrin nasal spray which will unclog your nostril whilst in public. no person needs to hearken to consistent blowing and sniffling. Unclog your nostril with Afrin.

If you are stuck someplace and snot will run down your face (like on the Subway) if you don't blow then do what you have to do. As long as you have a napkin or hanki people should be understanding.
who is going to blow their nose if it wasn't absolutely neccesary???? Some of you guys need to loosen up, none of you must not have allergies! I don't like it either, but i DO understand it.

I have NEVER blown my nose in public. I always go to a private room or rest room .... I think it is pretty gross [and rude] when people do it in front of other people ...
especially in a public place, like a restaurant : )

i let it rip if i have to, but not over the top loud... i love waiting to see who will say "bless you" , you sneeze to clear your airway so if you hold it in, what good is sneezing... if im at a table i keep it to a minimum and usually turn away from everyone....i leave to blow my nose, boogies dont mix well with others! good question

I think it is nast when someone blows their nose arounf me so why would I do it? I just think it's better and go to a private place :-)
