rhm5550--look at John H's answer again, and this time read between the lines. He's indirectly asking who--based on those simple points--is currently "winning" this war. Just who is more visibly losing the will to fight--them, or us? Do we have any actual REASON to be losing the will to fight, or is it because of petty domestic squabbling here at home from people who care more about winning votes from the proletariat than they do about winning a war or preventing even worse instability in that region?
Winning this war will mean keeping the noses of mediamen and politicians OUT of the war, particular if their interests are self-serving and one-sided. It will mean giving the military whatever resources and support it needs to accomplish its mission, and stopping all forms of micromanagement and outside meddling. It will mean letting the military do its JOB, and it will mean actually listening to the commanders on the ground instead of idiots at home who haven't even ever been there. It will mean realizing that not everything is a quick fix, some commitments actually take time and effort to come to fruition, and realizing that there's a bigger world out there than the safe little bubble people live in at home in the U.S.... and the realization that it's a very, very dangerous world.
So far, I'm not seeing much indication of any of these epiphanies coming to light on any kind of grand scale anytime soon... unfortunately.

Better to fight them there than here. Most Muslims are willing to die with out question for their cause but most Americans are not. Until one or the other changes the war will never truly be over.

Ways to Win a War
1. Eliminate the enemy.
2. Eliminate the enemy's reason to fight.
3. Eliminate the enemy's ability to fight.
4. Eliminate the enemy's will to fight.
Pick just one.
Who is winning the "War on Terror"?
When will we be willing to do what it takes to win?

Military action can win a war but not terrorist, because most terrorist living behind public, the only way is to cure the core(Palestinian) problem.

To John H.
Without using draconian (read Nuclear ) measures how do you expect to eliminate the enemy and who are they?
How do you expect to eliminate the reason for radical Jihadists to resist?
Same for ability.
Same for will.
