Normally, for most of the requirements your purpose is served if you ask IRS for Transcripts instead of your tax return. You can order a transcript by calling 1-800-829-1040, or using Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return. There is no fee for a transcript and will get in about 10 days. Transcripts have most of the information from your tax return including information from W2, 1099.

Or you can use Form 4506 -- Request for Copy of Tax Return. You will get copy of tax return filed by you along with all the attachments (like W2, 1099..). For each return the charges are $39 and IRS takes about 60 days to complete your request.

Call IRS at 1-800-829-1040, and request a RETURN TRANSCRIPT, this transcript is a line by line information from your tax return you filed. Or download form 4506-T from the IRS website, they will provide you a return transcript. If you want copies of your actual return you filed, complete form 4506 and pay the fee (use to be $39.00 for each copy)
Or visit you local IRS office in your city, they should be able to assistant you.

If youhave a local office, and know where it is, then going to them can be helpful. However, if you don't know, then here's what you do.
Call 1-800-tax-1040. You have probably already called this number, but read further: Choose options one, then four. You are telling the automated system that you have a tax question. This is the quickest way to speak with a representative.
If this doesn't work, or if you need more assistance, feel free to email.

Yes, visit your local office. In our town, the IRS peeps at the Federal Building are extremely helpful and can print stuff about you, you didn't know existed.

Pretend you have a dial phone. When you don't press an option, it's supposed to send you to a human screener.
