It would only cause awkwardness if you let it. I am 5'2" and my man is 6'3" and I think we look damn good together. The only people who would make a difference is either you or the man in a relationship. No one else matters. If you are comfortable with dating someone taller and that is all that you prefer then go for it. Don't worry about what someone else says.
Good Luck in making your decision.

I'm friends with a girl who's 5'5 and she's going out with one of the basketball players who is 6'11! So you look no wierder than them, lol. They just don't care what people think though because they really like each other. That's how I think everyone should be.

I've experienced being with someone taller than me. And yes, it is awkward at first. Having the taller person having to bend down and kiss someone can take a toll on their back. And it's even more embarassing when the shorter person has to get on their tippy toes, or even jump for that matter, for a kiss. You don't know how many times I slightly damage my machoism after I have to try to increase my height that i don't have to be with someone I loved. But if the love and happiness is there and he is what you are looking for, the size will no longer matter.

It doesn't matter if people think you look odd, it's if your happy with whomever your with that matters. I am 5'2" and I tend to date men that are 6" +, I dont care what anyone says I am happy and thats that. It shouldn't cause any awkwardness but it could bring more possibilites..;)

It really doesn't matter. I get weird stares because my girlfriend is the same height as I am (6'). All that matters is that you're both happy.

I don't think it matters if it doesn't bother you... I'm only 5' and my boyfriend is 6'2 I think it's funny, but it doesn't bother me.
I don't see why it would cause awkwardness

I'm 5'4" and I've dated a guy who was 6'6" and a guy who was 6'4". It worked out just fine. Those were actually my two longest relationships. People thought the height difference was cute.

Yeah, but I wasn't really into him and my neck started to hurt from looking up at him.
