2 things you could try. Cut a slot/cross in a tennis ball and slip that over the tap. He shouldn't be able to grip it. The other is cut the bottom off an empty plastic soft drink bottle or similar and slip this over the tap. Both are cheap and depending on the size of the tap should slip on but be hard for your son to grip and turn the tap. You and your husband should be able to squeeze and grip the tap to turn it when you want to use it. hope this helps.

Hmm. How old is your son? if he's to young to know better, then he should be being watched, if he's older, then make him come inside when he does that so he knows that if he is going to play outside he is not to touch the hose. If he gets wet, take him upstairs and get him to change himself (don't treat this like a punishment, it's just to that he'll find it's not worth getting wet if he has to change himself)

LOL! Sounds like he is having a blast! If you have plants you can get him his very own watering can. Water the plants with him and tell his that he's not allowed to turn on the water. Tell him he is responsible for watering the plants though. Give him that responsibility and make a big deal out of it so he feels special! I'm a stay at home mom too so I know what you are going through. Good luck and stay sane!!!!

Can you take the handle off so he cant turn it on?
when he turns on the hose, make him come in. If hes going to disobey you then he shouldnt get to play outside.

Find something else for him to do outside. You might go to Walmart and look at their selection of hose nozzles. They make some pretty tricky one to operate might even find one with a locking mechanism.

Either shut off the outside water from inside the house or make aquaboy stay outside until his clothing is completely dry while you do something he would like inside.

Watch him.
**************
Well then if you're "watching him"...do you just sit there and "watch" when he walks over to the hose and sprays everything?...Of course not...
Obviously...there's some time there that he IS NOT being watched...Otherwise he wouldn't have the opportunity to do it in the first place.
Aside from my first suggestion, you can also go to the hardware store and get a locking device to install on your water spigot.
Good Luck.
***Ledisxo - If you're being outsmarted by a "sneaky" 3 year old...then I'd be careful about who you're calling an "idiot"...lol
