Unless you each cheese and cream for every meal, I doubt it will make a big difference. Try cutting out soda, even diet, and all fast food. I lost 20 lbs in about 6 months from doing just those two things.

If the majority of the calories that you consume come from dairy then I would agree with this question. Cutting dairy out of your diet completely can be dangerous if you do not intake other foods that are high in calcium. Avoiding food groups completely in a diet is not healthy either. Moderation is the key to weight loss. Calories consumed versus calories burned. It can't be any simpler than that. Most dairy products are high in calories so limiting the amount you intake is a good idea. Weight loss only happens when the amount of calories being consumed is less than the amount of calories expended in a day. One pound of body fat is equal to 3,500 calories. A mile of running uses about 100 calories worth of energy. The average person's caloric intake should be about 2,000 calories. Eating an extra 100 calories each day will lead to a gain of a pound of fat in approximately 35 days.

All these fad diets are full of crap. You might lose some weight in the short-term, but only a long-range nutrition and exercise program can keep the weight off - and some form of dairy is beneficial to any nutrition plan.

Not necessarily. Also, dairy can be pretty useful as it has a lot of calcium. So if you were to cut it from your diet, you would have to find another way of getting it, for example, soya milk.
