Hee hee. I get to hunt deer year-round because the Game Warden approves special permits for out-of-season doe hunting, due to excessive crop damage on our farm.

There are way too many deer in our area, and there are too many people getting injured/killed when they hit them on the roads.

Hunting is good.

I'm an Iowa deer hunter here. Hubby and I will be out there opening morning of shotgun season, Dec 1. It is my favorite hunting season. It also helps put meat on the table and keeps the grocery bill down. There have been so many deer here that they are allowing extra anterless tags in certain counties. Good luck to all the hunters out there.

Recovering Cheddar head here. Still hunt there as a non-resident now that I live in MN. Have also hunted in Louisiana and Idaho. Love the sport and love the challenge. Nothing like having your hard work put some delicious healthy meat on your table too.

As for response to Michael W's question......I think we would feel even more challenged to get one. Why don't you go back to giving advice in the natural foods section since you are obviously not interested in hunting and just trying to ruffle our feathers.

Payton Manning hunts here, used to think he wanted football season over so he could come hunt. They might go nuts as on the Natchez Trace you can see 50-60 head everynight. Have to watch out you don't hit one. Must know government land safe. Take care.

Hopefully they bring back some meat.

I am hunting this year after about a 10yr break. I am also excited. I have already miss my first buck (about an 8pointer). But, there are plenty more here in North Carolina !
