Cappadoica in December is like a frozen heaven : It will be very cold but sunny in the date time, the air will be cold, crisp and so full of oxygen, it is almost intoxicating . Actually there has been cases of oxygen poisoning :)

You have be extremely careful at night time, though. The temperature will fall down to even below 20 C - tundra climate- and you may want to get thickly dressed.

I will strongly suggest you to stay in Urgup since it is very central and almost the same distance to Valleys, the underground cities and the Goreme open air museum.

You must consider staying in one of the cave hotels. They are very unique and authentically designed.

Check this one out. This hotel has an amazing view looking down Urgup valley and the sunsets are divine . My personal favorite.

Make sure to taste the delicious wines of the area, especially Turasan brand ones.

You want to have a view of the area from the air. I would recommend you to contact Goreme Balloons for reservations

Hope you have a nice time.

There may be snow in some parts but very very few parts and these are only places that are on a very high altitude. If you are thinking of the capital Ankara then no there wont be any snow in Ankara in December. I hope I was able to answer your questions.

You must take the hot air balloon tour and you should buy hand knitted socks from the old lady there!

It's too cold at that time. But under the snow it has an other beauty.
