It was written by a Christian mother who changed her way of thinking, even though it was too late to salvage her relationship with her daughter.
Please note that I am not looking for responses about why being gay is wrong. Please only comment if you read the site, and perhaps view the movie.
Quote from the website:
"Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival, Dan Karslake's provocative, entertaining documentary brilliantly reconciles homosexuality and Biblical scripture, and in the process reveals that Church-sanctioned anti-gay bias is based almost solely upon a significant (and often malicious) misinterpretation of the Bible. As the film notes, most Christians live their lives today without feeling obliged to kill anyone who works on the Sabbath or eats shrimp (as a literal reading of scripture dictates). "

I read your question and looked at the site. I think it's sad that people are now using the Bible in such a way as to twist it's meaning to suit their own wishes. I believe it is wrong to be gay/lesbian, because of different verses I've seen on it, mainly Romans 1:27. The Bible calls homosexuality unseemly and a sin, and unnatural. I'm curious to see how they can change that to condone it. That being said, I also think hating, ranting, threatening, etc is wrong. We need to lovingly exhort the homosexuals as to what the Bible says, following all of God's word, not just some of it. If we are so adamant against homosexuality, then we should also adamantly refuse to be hateful and threaten. So, I do not condone homosexuality and I do not condone hateful threats... I am a christian against homosexuality the act, not the ones committing it. I wish all of them could see the truth. i have gotten these views from the Bible, and no where in it have I seen anything saying it is "natural" to be gay, as this website is saying. Quite the opposite, actually.
One more note: the old laws of the Old Testament have been changed, are gone, as of Christ's resurrection. Therefore we are now able to eat any meats/seafood, and we do not kill transgressing children or gays. We have the OT for an example, and the NT for the law. And homosexuality is still spoken against in the NT.

To say that anti-gay bias is based almost solely upon a significant misinterpretation of the Bible is a lie. Anti-gay bias is based on the proper interpretation of Scripture and God despises homosexuality. Just because some poor mom has to change her way of thinking to salvage her relationship with her daughter is a poor excuse for making homosexuality seem o.k..

I watched the trailer. It seems like it would be an interesting film. I am not anti-gay. In fact, I support their right to marry, raise families, and live peaceably their whole lives. What's wrong with that?

A girl in my college is very christian and tries to push it onto us, shes very anti-gay, which is harsh because we have a lot of homosexuals in the college, including some friends. she says she is fine with the thought of same sexes being attracted to each other, but not "practising" sex, which i think is wrong. i would rather people be happy and in love in life than live a lonely celibate life. to be honest i think this girl will probably be celibate anyway from the way she pushes her beliefs onto people..

Sadly, for many parents like this mother, they end up losing their gay children to suicide because of trauma from constant shaming, guilt and being forced to change what is natural and really not evil or harmful to anyone else. And it is only then they realize what they did to that child and start to question their religious indoctrination.

If I stood up and said I "disagree" with heterosexual marriage, people would call me a monster. If you are willing to look another human being in the face and deny them their right to love someone, you are acting out of hatred and priviledge for being in the majority. You cannot "disagree" with homosexuality like you "disagree" whether or not it'll be cold tomorrow.
