Islam! I was a follower of Islam as a child because I had to be. From the earliest moment I can remember I never thought it made sense. I studied many religions in school in England and never thought any of those made any more sense.
There was never any defining moment when I rejected Islam. I don't think I ever embraced it. They're simply draconian, primitive, barbaric, mindless conformists.
"Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but it takes religion to make a good person do bad things."

I'm sure most atheists come from a Christian background due to all the fake Christian hypocrites out there. Looking at some of the "religious" people these days would make anyone turn away from what they're preaching. Being a Christian is not a hobby, sport or title. It's a lifestyle that goes with you everywhere you go. If more people would actually live like the Bible tells them to and not just follow the parts that come easy to them, more people would be open to the religion.

Christianity is the religion that's achieved the main injury interior the west so a ways, so it truly is in basic terms organic to be first on the record for ridicule - maximum xians i've got met right here interior the united kingdom are truly terrible human beings and deserve all they get. as quickly as somebody says they are xian, I positioned my look after up, through fact i comprehend some thing undesirable is going to take place. Africans are specially xians too, through brainwashing instilled on them by using missionaries. I had a buddy who grew up in Ghana and he or she replaced into crushed on the legs if she neglected Sunday college, so it includes directly to as we communicate. additionally, British human beings comprehend greater concerning the bible and its stupidity than all of us comprehend concerning the koran. i haven't time to ascertain yet another fairy tale e book so as that i can quote how ridiculous it somewhat is - I in basic terms examine the bible at school and our instructor replaced into sensible adequate to spend each and each lesson pointing out its flaws. She mentioned it replaced into abhorrent to discover ways to settle for some thing with out question and that we've been sensible people who ought to question each thing. i'm sorry in case you probably did no longer get a sturdy training - i assume i'm fortunate, as i haven't met all and sundry else with such an enlightened RE instructor.

My sister and I were the first black people in a small town and were treated like crap by, can you guess? Christians.
The worst part was that we didn't know whether it was because we were black or Jewish!
When I was 13, I decided to leave the temple because it didn't make sense to me and my most awesome mom supported my decision.
I have never looked back and I truly enjoy life to the fullest!

My grand parents were lutherns, and my mom just believes in some ill defined thing, but Ive always been an athiest.
When I was 12 I did have a brief flirtation with ESp and paranormal stuff, but come on I was 12.

not atheist, but I left the christian church for good when i invited my gay friend to church and told the pastor, prior, that he had been forced out of his former church due to his homosexuality and everyone treating him like the plague......my pastor suddenly changed the sermon from that printed in the bullitin, to a 20 minute rant about muslims and homosexuals and their relationship to the devil and people like hitler.....no lie, he said hitler was akin to my gay friend. I walked out, from the chior loft at the head of the church, resigned as youth leader, and have never been back.

right-o! why don't we/athiests spend more time combatting mormonism or whatever other cults, rather than attacking the born-again believers? lolz. i mean, it's funny/ironic but it's also a pretty good question.....
