a friend recently got married and made her own bouquets. She bought fake stems for the silk flowers instead of using a nosegay. I've checked Hobby Lobby and Michaels and I can't find the fake stems tht I'm looking for. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and where I can find the fake stems please let me know! Thank you in advance!! :)

PAT C -- I know that all silk flowers come with fake stems. My problem is not all of the stems are the same color. Some are dark green, some are bright green, some are a red-ish color. Thats my problem.

I am a florist and know exactly what you are talking about. They should be fairly easy to find, I am in Kentucky and I know for a fact that they are even sold in the craft section of Wal-mart. There is also a great store for wedding preparation in our area called Garden Ridge, I been able to find EVERYTHING I ever needed for weddings in that store, even balloon arches. If you can't find what you are looking for make your own. I used this idea myself not to long ago, here is the link.

I'm not sure what you are asking. All silk flowers come with stems attached, so I don't see what's your problem. If you were going to make your flowers out of, say ribbon, then you would need fake calyx and leaves. These you would have to find on line somewhere because no craft store , that I know of, carry them anymore. If you use quality " silk " ( most are not really made of silk ) flowers, you can barely tell the fake from the real, including their stems. Some roses even have stems on them that have fake thorns. A.C. Moores and Michale's carry a very nice grade of flowers.

you should take care of the most elementary style of wedding ceremony bouquet on your own. it really is no longer hard, notwithstanding it does take a custom. practice costs money in elements. you should cord the vegetation a million/2 way down the stems because without water the heads will slump after a lengthy time period. i ought to also use florist tape on each and each and every stem over the cord. i ought to also wrap some florist tape around the take carry of to carry them at the same time. the bottom a million/3 of the stems don't have any cord or tape on them. Then i ought to ribbon wrap the bouquet contained in the middle over the florist tape and guard it with a corsage pin. it really is elementary, yet your first few attempt received't look good. you'll keep on with the tape too thickly, placed on out the vegetation attempting to get it proper, and be annoyed about the ribbon wrap. i have considered videos on the internet on the thanks to make this hand tied bouquet. you should check out one or hunt for a e book with step through step illustrations. imagine two times about making your own bouquet or doing any of your own vegetation. You, your relatives and friends ought to easily be playing the shape. it extremely is properly absolutely worth the money no longer ought to do it your self.

I'd forget the stems and just wrap it all with white ribbon tight so it's easier to hang on to .. it looks pretty classy too

Good Luck!

Sorry, not sure what you are talking about. I got all my wedding flowers at Michaels and they had everything under the sun.

Couldn't you ask her where she got hers?
