Body language tells all. Look for signals of her interest.
These can be many, but here are a few that might help.
1. Eye contact. When you talk to her, look her right in the eye. Does she hold eye contact or does she break it off? Holding eye contact is a great sign.
2. Also, is she smiling and laughing at your jokes. Is she comfortable in your presence? Smiles are good.
3. Does she play with her hair (twisting it around her finger) younger women are notorious for this one.
4. Does she look for ways to touch you? A shoulder bump when your walking together, a little help with some lint on your back, a hand that taps your chest to make a point, a short jab to the shoulder for an innappropriate joke that she clearly enjoyed. All great signs.
If you can discern at least three positive signals of attraction, in a 15 minute time period, you can rest assured shes flirting with you.

As tough as dating can be, the toughest task of all may be at the beginning when you are trying to tell if a girl really likes you or not. Is she really flirting or brushing you off? Did she really turn back and wink at you or was it at someone else? Fortunately, there are a few basic signs you can look for to see if a girl really likes you.
Body Language
Step OneCheck for eye contact. If she looks directly at you and her pupils are dilated, she is definitely interested. Also, see if she blinks more than usual or flutters her eyelashes.
Step TwoCheck her crossed legs when sitting down. If the front foot is pointed or rocking towards you, it's a sign she wants to get closer.
Step ThreeWatch for hand gestures. Twirling her hair, playing with jewelry, rubbing her wrists and exposing her palms are all nervous signs of interest.
Step FourWait and see if she touches you in any way. That's almost the number one sign she likes you.
Conversation
Step OneSee if she talks more about herself or you. If she asks you a lot of questions, she wants to know as much about you as possible.
Step TwoPay attention to her voice. It's a good sign if she tries to match your tone by raising or lowering her voice or talking faster or slower.
Step ThreeSay something funny and laugh. If she laughs back, she either thinks you're funny or wants you to believe so.
Step Four Watch for conversation about exes. If she asks about ex-girlfriends, she wants to know if she's your type. If she talks a lot about ex-boyfriends, she's probably not looking for a relationship now.

She probably likes you or her friend might like you. Most likely the girl you are walking to class told her friend and her friend is trying to find out if she likes you. If this girl, smiles at you, giggles at a lot of things, and you feel chemestry ask her to a movie or something. Hope everything works out! =)

Just play it cool in school. Be nice and don't act differently around your friends, she'll hint to you that she likes you sooner or later. Or you could pass her a note telling her you like her and see if she responds the same way.. Be cool, fool

Do you have any friends yet at the new school? You could ask one of them to help you find out.

maybe they are nice because you are nice. if she likes you she will be around you much, try to find excuses to do thing with you and you will see a sweet smile on her face only when she meet you and you won't see that smile when she's with any of her other friends. try to notice this
good luck

Alright i know it sounds crazy...but you could just ask her. Something along the lines of...hey do you like me and if so wanna hang out. Its so straightforward and crazy it might just work. Good luck.

ask her out! what do you have to lose? would you rather spend the rest of you year wondering what could have been, or 5 minutes regretting what did happen.

I would just ask her. I think her friend also has something for you too.
