Part of what you say is true: "There is only One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church." These are the words of the Nicene Creed, capturing essential teachings of Christ and believed by all major denominations.
"Christ said that he established one Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it." No Christian can fault this teaching of Jesus (Matt 16:18).
"Sorry Protestants but you are dead wrong." Protestants are wrong on some issues, but not dead wrong. Jesus prayed for them in John 17: "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."
Many Protestants here are interested in learning more about original Christianity. It might be more productive to teach them rather than to condemn them as "dead wrong."
Cheers,
Bruce

The teaching of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, are like Jesus The same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.
The Reformation came about because of The errors which had come into The Church over The centuries.
Jesus ran The money makers out of The Temple. What do you think were/are his thoughts on the sale of indulgences and paying to have a Mass said today for the Souls he has already welcomed into his arms?
At the Reformation the Reformers went back to the basic teachings of Christ.
Do you know that in the Church in the early days, Priests could be married?
Do you know that the infallibility of the Popes was only declared around the end of the 19th/start of the 20th Cent.?
Do you know that the Feast of the Assumption was only declared in the early part of the 20th Century?
And by the way, the Reformers are members of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Christ.
One last fact, the word Protestant is only a nickname used after the Reformation.
Surely as A Christian, you should be doing what so many in all the Christian Churches are doing, and that is working together to bring the Gospel To all the World.

You are right about one thing. Jesus did say that HE would establish His Church and the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. You are wrong about everything else you said.
You are so sadly blinded and misled, that you have no clue what Jesus even meant. He is talking about HIS TRUE CHURCH, THE BODY OF BELIEVERS IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHICH HE HIMSELF ESTABLISHED WHILE HE WAS ON THIS EARTH. TO SAY THAT HE WAS MERELY TALKING ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY REDICULOUS!!! You think the Catholic church is the only one going to heaven???? Have you never read Revelation? Have you never read the letters to the Churches, which, by the way, Jesus had THE APOSTLE JOHN WRITE, NOT PETER! Peter was in no way the head of the Church. this argument has been done over and over again. We will never agree to this.
If Jesus meant that the Catholic church was the only "true" church, then why did he write the letters to the churches?? Why didn't He just say "The Catholic Church is the only true church, and it is the only one going to heaven. Everyone else is going to hell?"
JESUS CHRIST IS ABOUT A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP. He speaks to each person individually, and knows each of our hearts. Jesus Christ, the CHIEF CORNERSTONE, THE ROCK, is the HEAD OF HIS CHURCH. And when He returns, He will take His CHURCH, all the BELIEVERS IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST with HIM. Some people are going to be in shock when this happens.
Jesus also said "You say you can see, but you are blind." He told this to the Pharisees, which, by the way thought they had the answer, too!

you are wrong if you say in Catholicism the teachings haven't changed in the last 2000 years. Celibacy in priests in the catholic church only exists since the council of Elvira around 300.
In the original church priests could be married men (Apostle peter was married). So the protestant church went back to the origins in this matter.
Teachings were changed at each council or synod.
And by the way, the catholic church definitely doesn't think the sun rotates around the earth any more. And I don't think they are that proud about the crusades and the inquisition any more either.
You are probably a troll, but you may just be plain ignorant.

What do You think the one true church is? Who created it? Was this "church" questioned 1500 years later? or Did you find out that one person published or made known his question of that particular belief (your one true church).
You state that if someone states that his true church is in error, is then the same as calling Christ a liar, then you are saying the same thing.
You state that Protestants are wrong, what are they wrong about? By the way are you judging the faith of a person?(which is to be determined by God because, ones faith or belief can only be determined by God, because He is the only one that knows our hearts.
Your brief summary of religious history is interesting and I am encouraged to Study more, (not Wikipedia) maybe you share the same feeling.

"There is only One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church."
According to the Catholic Church. That saying didn't even exist for the first 400 years their were Christians.
"There ar NO legitimate arguments against the Mother Church."
That sounds a little close-minded, no?
"The Apostolic succession is unquestionable and the teachings are the same today as they were 2000 years ago"
Not true. We have little to no record of the apostolic succession for the first few centuries. As far as the teachings, you are painting with a very broad brush. There are numerous Catholic teachings that didn't emerge for 1,000 years after Jesus' supposed death, such as purgatory. Even the trinity took a few hundred years to invent.
"Why after 1500 years did man decide to question the teachings of the one true church?"
Because for the first 1500 years the vast majority of Christians (Catholics) couldn't read a lick. They had no idea if what the Church was saying is true. Those that could question were usually murdered as heretics. It was only as the enlightenment grew and secular protections did people "question the church."
"Christ said that he established one Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. To say that his true Church is in error is calling Christ a liar."
So the Church has never been wrong? Once? Why did the Catholics need Vatican I and Vatican II then?
"Pope Benedict is the true successor of the Apostle Peter and the true Vicar of Christ. Sorry Protestants but you are dead wrong."
Was the teenager in the 12th century who was elected pope and had prostitutes and all manner of sin in his palace "The Vicar of Christ"?
I am a former Catholic and now atheist, but you claims are empty platitudes that only parrot the position of your church. Read a bit more about history, and particularly the early history of Christianity, before you make such inane claims.

There is only One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. The Orthodox Church. There ar NO legitimate arguments against the Orthodox Church. The Apostolic succession is unquestionable and the teachings are the same today as they were 2000 years ago. Why after 1000 years did man decide to question the teachings of the one true church? Christ said that he established one Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. To say that his true Church, the Orthodox Church, is in error is calling Christ a liar.

To summarize, you're suggesting that God will not grant access into heaven certain groups of people because they're not praying in the right building? Even though they are praying to Him and view Him as The Lord God Creator of All?
That's like saying the Catholic Church will only take donations of paper money, not coin. It all spends the same.
Good luck with that "theory".

I can only speak for myself, my decreased vision is due to age. My decision to leave the Catholic Church was a personal one. They refused to accept my mentally retarded son into their teachings. As a Baptist, he is accepted. Now, which one is more Christ like?
Christians are bashed so much on Yahoo Answers, lets not bash each other. The main thing is we are believers, how we practice that faith should not be important. The important thing to me is that I have faith and attend a church that builds upon my faith and brings me closer to God.

Jesus said those things according to Paul and others who wrote down the text after all of the actual witnesses were dead and could not refute what was written.
