My boyfriend saw this question and said, '' Why not let the hamster live a little? They only live for two years!'' What my boyfriend said is understandable, but your hamster doesn't need to have all the bad stuff in its stomach. Sunflower seeds should be given as an occasional treat since they are fatty and full of salt. Yes, hamsters love sunflower seeds, but make sure they aren't covered with any spices such as the jim beam bbq whiskey. That will end up hurting your hamster's belly. Try getting plain sunflower seeds or unsalted peanuts.

dont think so...gives off a bad taste when u chew it up, however if you swallow the seed whole it will come out exactly as it went in (in other words - No benefits) because of the seed's outer coating protects it. hope that helps :)

Pear and apple seeds contain the chemicals from which we get cyanide. There is no benefit to eating them. In fact, eat enough of them and they can kill you.
