If you have a social security card that says it is not valid for employment, you need to take your citizenship papers to the social security office and get a new social security card.

If you have no social security number, you need to take your citizenship papers to the social security office and get a social security number.

If you have a social security card that does not say that it is not valid for employment, you need to take your citizenship papers to the social security office and have them update their records.

You need to get the proper paper work together that shows you are an American Citizen as you claim and take it to the Social Security Office. There you can make your case and they will determine if you are a legitimate citizen or if you need to fill out more paper work or something else.

Good Luck!!

Do you have a Social Security Card? Have you been employed and had money taken out of your paycheck for Social Security? If the answer to both questions is yes, then I would d suggest that you make an appointment at the Social Security office, let them know what has been happening, and they will be able to help you.

Sounds like a question for the social security office - something apparently didn't get updated in your records when you became a citizen.
