First you have to copy your PS2 memory card to the PS3's hard drive by using the Memory Card Apater.
After copying the PS2 memory card to the PS3, all of the game saves on a particular memory card will be saved on the PS3's hard drive.
The Memory Card Apaters are $15 dollars and you can buy them at stores like Target, Best Buy and Walmart.

convinced, the PS3 can examine the PS2 memory card and the PS1 memory card, once you've the memory card adaptor, which sells for $15. you could then partition component to the PS3's memory for PS2 video games (and PS1 video games) and move the game saves from the memory playing cards to the PS3.

Retailers such as Sears and Wal-mart sell the memory card adaptor you need to transfer your data. It is cheap but can be hard to find so call your local stores to save some time. I have one that I don't need anymore since once you transfer your ps1 and ps2 games saves to your ps3 you're done with it and don't need it anymore.
