I can give you some advise for a wild boar hunt, listen to what they tell you about the mean buggers trying to gore you. Have hunted them with a bow in Clark Range Tenn. first time I was there the owner of the camp Ken Moody told stories about guys being hurt by the hogs. After the first hunt I thought what a bunch of bunk these things are afraid of me. Comes the second hunt a year or two later same thing "be careful the boars will try to spike you with their tusks, had another guy hurt last week yak, yak," Well out into the woods went I, don't like hunting in groups or with dogs so I took up a position near where I had taken the boar on the first hunt a year or two before. Some time later I heard the dogs barking and like a flash the huge boar broke into a opening in the path I was on ,that hog turned looked at me lowered it's head and charged. I attempted to draw my bow as it charged from about ten yards was unable to get a full draw when the boar struck me in the left leg with one of it's tusks and it continued on down the path with the dogs following. Upon checking the damage to myself I found that I had a small scrape on the lower portion of my left leg and it could have been much worse were it not for the heavy pants that I had on. Checking my equipment I found that the arrow that I had nocked was broken with about ten inches along with the broadhead missing. Later that day I was told that they had shot that boar with a rifle three times and that it had killed one of the dogs and hurt another hunter. If some of you guys are bow hunters you may know the name Bob Foulkrod he is a bow hunter and paid by archery dealers to use their equipment, well that same hunt he placed an arrow into that boar and was driven up a tree by it. Use what ever weapon you feel good with but remember when hunting these guys you can become the hunted.

Sure!! Catalina Island has wild hog hunts. Check with fish and game for a referrel to a guide. Also, there are a bunch of ranches around the paso robles area that feature hog hunts. Then there is Hunter Liggett, which has unguided pig hunts on public access land. That should get you started. Good luck, pig hunting is a blast!!!

There are several outfitters up near Paso Robles and Santa Maria, just do a google search for california hog hunts. Here's a couple of links for you to check out.

Hope this helps you out

Check out Tejon Ranch. You'll have to pay to hunt there, but it's much better hunting than most public places. And, it's pretty close to LA.

I think you are out of luck. The fires have cooked most of the boars and you will have to wait for another couple of weeks for them to repopulate.
If you want bacon you might try sniffing around the ashes,
