I know I often do.
To me, it seems so sad that reality is so hard for someone that they have to resort to fairy tales.

I know molestation victims that arent even that emotionally fragile!

becks..i brought up molestation because, one would think, that that is an area where people are emotionally fragile...yet I know a few that have endured that and theyre more solid than many believers i've encountered

No I don't, not any more at least.

Maybe some of the old folks who just don't know any better.

But there is no excuse for anyone in this day and age being so completely ignorant.

No, I respect their right to hold their point of view. Given that I do not know the truth and cannot say that God does not exist for certain then it is as likely that they are right as it is that I am. There is no definitive reality and none of us know for sure. You are delusional if you think you know - you don't know any more than anyone else. And if you are wiling to be adamant about something that is no more than a belief system then you are the same as the people you feel sorry for.

I have sorrow for many...because they are "unlearned" and then, they come here and get nailed instead of anwered.."correctly" according to the question they have asked. Or, they do not know how to "ask" properly, or anwer rightly, or get too offended easily...(like you said) so, my answer is "yes" and it is sad...but, i don't believe in "fairy tales", everything has to be "proven" or it's worth nothing at all...therefore, anything i know..has been proven, i take nothing at "face value" or blind faith..if there is no witness of truth, i drop it like a hot rock...but, if it is proven, and on more than one hand..(usually on several) then, it's something i cannot deny..therefore a "keep" and a fact, "Peace!"

Hmm, what you're displaying isn't "pity". It looks more like "bitterness".

Case in point: "I know molestation victims that arent even that emotionally fragile!"

lol

EDIT: Yes, all I have for your ridiculous analogy between people with different beliefs being "emotionally fragile like molestation victims" is a big LOL. And no, I can't be more specific regarding your display of bitterness toward believers. Can you be more specific regarding your pity for those who are doing just fine but believe differently than you do?

Why would you pity them ?

If you are right, then we all end up rotting in the dirt, food for the worms. So it doesn't make a difference...

If they are right, then you burn in hell for all eternity...

Either way, you never get to say "I told you so"...

Personally, I'm just hoping theres something else behind Door number 3... because the other 2 options don't do anything for me...

Once upon a time .... maybe, but then my mother slapped me upside the head. Hey if you believe the bible then maybe you should try reading The end of Faith.

The ones with real hate in them (for non believers or homosexuals etc). I pity them.

Not as a group, but for the ones who embrace ignorance, great pity.

It may be a "fairy tale" to you because you haven't experienced God. I know that I feel sorry for atheists because of the blinders on their eyes. It's not that they haven't found God, it's that most don't even wanna look. I know where I'm going when I die and have no fear. I live a fulfilling, happy, abundant life here on earth w/the excitement of the life to come. What's to feel sorry for?

Yes. Belief is not a choice, it is the result of learning (or mis learning with fundies). And there are some Christians who are just so into the persecution bit.
