They are basing this on what? If God is all powerful, he could lie all of the time, and then just change it so it doesnt look like he lied.

This is one of those awkward point you hit when dealing with infinitely powerful hypothetical entities. Like, 'could God create a rock so large that even he couldn't lift it?'

I think God lied on at least one occasion, anyhow. See the story of Job, when he ordered him to sacrifice his son, without the slightest intention of letting that happen.

Ah, you changed the true meaning of a lie. A lie is a lie. Even if you changed something afterward to make it appear true the lie is still a lie.
Having said that you have to find an instance of the lie before you can say God/anyone did lie.
You will not find it in the bible as Wolfechu thinks he did. He did not understand the event. The event was to test Abrahams faith in God. God did not ask him to kill his son because he loved them both. It is an example to all of us that if we truly trust in God he will protect us from ourselves and others.

Not using Bible Quotes is anti logic since the personal character of God is revealed in the historically authenticated Scriptures.

However, if a being is incapable of telling lies or deceiving because its nature is only good within the phenomenon of reality it would cease to be good if it could lie. We base Gods goodness on understanding the wonders of creation that apply to humans like beauty, love, sensations, tastes, friendship, care for animals and cycles of nature; if God created such then He would be wonderfully good. Our other basis for believing is because God has revealed it in the Bible that you do not want me to quote.

Religion, ****** up nonsense really, backed by powerful people who control their followers through any 'holy' books (which happen to be the 2nd most ****** up thing in the world, after religion) that they may have.

The problem with doubting religion is that people who believe won't accept your views unless you can prove god doesn't exist with evidence, and because god doesn't exist there therefore isn't anything to prove he doesn't exist as true religious people don't believe in science. Any religious persons answer to any question doubting god's existence is 'how do u know' and 'well it says in the bible'. Ya wasting ya time asking a question like this if u truly are looking for an answer because no-one can give u one.

'God' told the 9/11 terrorists to fly into the twin towers and yet every other religion condemned it. Is it just me, or would that be doubting God's word?

I obviously think that 9/11 was wrong but my point is that that proves god doesn't exist as religions themselves condemned the work of other religious people who genuinely believe they were doing the work of god.

They should say God does not lie. He leaves the actual lying up to Satan. Then He creates a delusion so that people will believe a lie. oh sorry you said not to use bible quotes.

God is an Absolute. Think of Neutral Spiritual Energy, and the fact that God cannot be other than He is, which is Love.

Lying is of the MIND. An activity of duality. There is no good or bad in an Absolute. So, God just is and that is, is permanent and cannot be other than it is.

In addition there is no deception in either the Astral realm, or that of the Causal realm. Why? Because one knows by direct perception what is in another's MIND. So, deception only exists on the physical plane of existence.

Peace

God is the universal spirit that holds the universe together as one. God represents harmonious and constructive energy. God always represents his energy properly, but humans are not good receivers. Our level of spiritual development, limits our capability to receive any imformation through inspiration. Traditional religion needs to update themselves, with the best and newest in spiritual ideas and training techniques from all possible sources, so that they will be closer to the truth and better able to positvely affect thie technological age we live in. God will always be there to inspire and guide us, to the degree we are receptive.

God is all powerful. God can do anything. God can, if he wants, lie.

Ezekiel 14:9 states that God deceives certain prophets.

Basically it means whatever god says is automatically true. In other words if god said for example, "the sky is green" then this would be true. The sky would either turn green or the color people call 'blue' would suddenly become known as green. This is how it is that god cannot lie. Whatever he says is automatically the truth.

Based on BELIEF. The beauty of a BELIEF is that it is MINE, and I can do with it as I please. You may have your beliefs, and Susie may have hers, but they are personal, and they don't have to be the same. Dont wrap yourself up in the great fun that is attempting to disprove the Biblical truths, but just embrace your beliefs, and let us have ours, too.

As Verbal Kent would say,
"The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist."
Its all about BELIEF.
(you didn't say I couldn't use Usual Suspects quotes!)
