I definitely would not give diamonds as a Christmas gift to a boss. That seems inappropriate unless your in some kind of relationship outside of work or family members to that boss. What about flowers, a picture frame, or a candle. There are so many other possibilities than diamonds :).

Diamonds are not an appropriate gift for a co worker or boss. I would feel weird getting diamonds from an employee.
Leave expensive jewelry, perfume, lingerie and dresses to the significant other to give.

Any kind of jewelry is too personal for an office gift. I would suggest a really nice gift basket. They are a lot of fun to receive because the have many different items and generic enough for the office.

Well i agree with you. Diamonds are alittle personal and not something you give to a boss. Maybe a gift vard to a resturant or store would be nice. Diamonds are way too much to give to a boss though.

Not only is it intimate or personal it's stupidity. Why buy your boss something so pricey? Did she give you all a raise or a gigantic bonus? The most you should do is to give her a group gift with each worker contributing $5 each.

No!
Unless you are having an affair with her.
Your boss should give you diamonds for Christmas not the other way round.

I am sure she would love it, but it's really a little over the top unless it is fairly modest and reasonably priced, like a single diamond pendant or something of that nature.
Check your company policy on gift giving. Often, there is a policy against giving gifts to bosses, or other parameters that have to be followed.
A gift card, or certificate to a spa or something like that would be better.

BAD bad idea, its just innapropriate and over the top, maybe everyoen should pitch in to get her a day at a spa or an espresso machine for the office or something more appropriate, i think this is a very bad idea, she will fill weird accepting the present nevermind wearing it to the office

Jewelery is too personal, but heres a thought: how about treating her to a day at the spa, or getting her a nice spa gift basket...that would say to her how much you appreciate her and how hard she works, and that you would all like her to have a day of pampering!

I would not do this. A gift card to the restaurant or a mall would be more appropriate. Or even tickets to a concert/theater. (Maybe they sell gift certificates as well, that she can pick her own show/concert.)
If you know of some special interests of her, you could go after that. A 1-day golf course or whatever.
