My son's birthday is December 7th. I'm thinking of having a small get together with about 6-10 kids. I was thinking of having it at my house. It's child proof and I have a lot of toys. I don't have much money and I was wondering what types of activities and gift bags I could give out. Please help. I'm trying to come up with ideas before I send out the invitations. I don't want to do Mc D's because of the ball pits, I've heard many a nasty things about them. I don't trust them. He is really into superman and I was gonna make the cake a superman cupcake cake but I need ideas to keep the kids entertained.

First pick a theme, get some balloons and construction paper.
OK so I see he likes Superman that's great! You could have the kids come dressed up as their favorite super hero and make it a Super Hero party or just do a Superman party.

Print up your own invites on your computer or make them out of construction paper.

Games (make them yourself):
Pin the 'S' on Superman
Hot kryptonite (sp?) like hot potato but use a rock or a rock-like ball
Flying game: make paper airplanes and have the kids fly them
Flying and Landing game: play musical chairs but use sound track from Superman movie and have the kids pretend fly around the chairs instead of normal walking/running.
Do a craft with them or read a story, watch a movie
Coloring, painting
Get some Cheap fabric and have the kids decorate capes for flying.

You don't have to give out gift bags but if you want. Get some brown lunch bags and draw Superman's 'S' on them with the childrens names.
Put in a few pieces of candy and a toy or crayons and a small coloring book. Go to the dollar store to check out what they have.

This sounds like fun can I come?!

Get the superman party bags at your local wal-mart. Hit the 99 cent store for goodies and they also have activity stuff (decoration stuff too). Just remember that the party is really your celebration since your baby is still to small to remember it, just make sure it is a fun day and all should go well. Go to the webber's bread outlet and buy a couple of loafs of sliced bread. Buy a couple of cream cheese boxes and a couple of cans of deviled ham and blend together. Sounds nasty but it is actually very tasty. Make your sandwiches, cut them in 4 squares. Put an olive with a fancy toothpick on top and you have snackies for the adults too. Get totinos pizza rolls and make a bunch for the kids. Don't forget the punch & ice cream. That is what I did for one of my parties and it turned out great and not too expensive. Hope it helps and have fun

My son will be 3 on December 6th! We are doing the Chucky Cheese thing....
To keep the cost down maybe you can ask other moms to bring food (potluck style). As for entertainment, well I think that kids just love to play! They tend to entertain themselves! If you can't afford a clown just finds some games on line that you think the kids will like. It will be great! Happy Birthday to your sweet boy.

a game you can play is Kryptonite Keep-Away

Players will form a circle. Play the Superman theme music while the
children pass a green ball or glow-stick around the circle. When the
music stops suddenly, the player still holding the ball or glue stick,
loses their powers and sits out for one round. This player can be in
charge of the stereo for one round.

Supplies you can get for goodie bag are.

My son once went to a superman party, and the mom had made red capes for all the kids to wear. They loved it.

Educational toys are always good. Go into the baby section in the toy isle and look for anything that says, "For ages 3 and up". They're not going to say they don't like the gift.

It isnt clear what your budget is.

3 year olds like to paint and draw...maybe get white t-shirt and have them draw a super hero costume and provide a cape and constuction paper of arm bands/bracelets or crowns/tiara.
