The memory card has pretty much NOTHING to do with image/picture quality. I would rank in order of importance...
Lens / CCD / Processing algorithm

Megapixel count can actually increase your odds of having a poor image especially in many of today's hi megapixel point and shoots. This is a problem because cramming so many sensor sites into a small sensor leads to excessive noise which requires more noise reduction at the cost of image quality due to reduced image detail.

All that said, please keep in mind that 10 years ago when the earliest DSLR's were available, megapixel counts were far lower than today's sensors yet the resultant printed image quality was just as good if not superior to many of today's point and shoots. Alot of this is due to again sensor size and density as well as the reality that most users RARELY crop and print or make large format prints that are viewed up close enough to matter.

i.e. yes today's camera quality may be superior but it's likely that 90% of viewers wouldn't be able to tell.

HTH.

The quality of a photo has to do with the sensor of the camera and the quality of the optic on the front. Think of the sim card as a roll of film. It is what you do behind the camera that makes all the difference.

A "good picture" is the result of the quality of the lens and the number of megapixels in your sensor.

If you're happy with Kodak then upgrade within the Kodak line.
