No. I wouldn't want an afterlife. This one is just enough.

It's natural to fear death. People make up an afterlife to make it not so scary. Just like telling a little girl you used your magic powers to get rid of the monster under her bed.

People who believe are a lot like children.

Now it is time to discuss the important issue of what lays beyond the end of the Road. The combined understanding of both science and religion tells us that one day the human race shall cease to exist on this planet. What happens after that is what they may dispute. But as for people who have been following the Divine path, they have foreknowledge that on a certain day - hidden by God and known only to Him - every human being will be brought back to life again and required to give an account for what he had done during his lifetime. Every individual will receive on that day a reward or punishment according to his good or bad deeds. Those who do not believe in this Day of Account will always argue:

And they used to say: When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised? Say: The ancients and those of later times will surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 13

The concept of the Hereafter is very remote from the area of our human experience. It is not easy to conceive that a person who died physically will continue to live spiritually or that he will live later, long after he died. Science, though not able to disprove the possibility of life after death, is not able to give any support to such a concept.

Although awareness of the Hereafter is part of the belief in the unseen, therefore beyond the area of our human experience, it is entirely logical. To adopt the scientific theory of ‘constants’ in this universe necessitates, from the macro to the micro, that every single cause or action has an effect. Nothing happens without there being a direct or indirect reaction to it. This leads us to the concept of universal balance: which from a spiritual point of view leads us to the belief in ultimate justice administered from the Divine attribute of a Just God.

To start with, I believe that we have many lives, (no I am not a Hindu), and that we choose the manner of our birth & rebirth in order to come here to experience things, to learn lessons that are for our spiritual development, or maybe to help others learn lessons for theirs.

After we leave our physical bodies I believe that we rejoun our Higher Selves on a higher plane of existence to assimilate & think about our learnings, and to decide what we need to accomplish in our next life.

I am now in my one of many, many after-lives. I believe we remain is this reality in this universe and continuously reincarnate. I believe we better focus on the serious problems of this world, since this exercise not only improves this world, but makes your spirit strong for another life in a similar world. I believe that we leave our body at times in our sleep, enter the spiritual realm, only to return to our body before we wake. That is why dreams can seem really real at times. I believe our spirit will leave our body when we die, and will again want to return to a comfortable body, one that is right for it, and will.

I will like to think that all the bad things I had done or things that people had done to me would be undone in the afterlife. It makes us accept the inevitability of death. Some societies go further by saying we can comeback in another form for redemption. The question really would be how does this concept of afterlife control our behaviour throughout life.

i don't believe there will be anything for us after we leave this world. after we die that's the end of our story. it's a nice idea though, i'll admitt that. i just don't think it is in the cards.

whenever someone talks about the afterlife i just let them. some people need that to get through each day, to believe there is a higher power looking after them, that one day the golden gates will be open for them, and one day they'll see old friends and family waiting there for you. like i said it's a nice idea....l

the christian view is wrong. when you die you will have no form or human characteristics. that would require a body, brain, eyes... all the senses that your human body use no longer work because it's in a box 6 feet under.

The next life is formed by the actions we perform in this life. If you act immorallly you will find yourself in a postition of suffering. If you perfrom your duties as a human you will find yourself in a postion of happiness. However if one serves God then he will find himself in his eternal original position having a relationship with God(Krsna)
